This email sounds pretty fraudulent. Received it today. It comes from: [email protected]
The problem is it asks you to activate the offer and then it goes to a url with
.96.it ….does not sound like Mobikwik right? Possibly to rob your mobikwik credentials
The next part asks you for a gmail login…possibly to steal your gmail credentials.
Also when you try to create a ticket with the link in that email, the email at the correct mobikwik site comes up with [email protected] as pre populated
I’m pretty sure the offer is fraudulent…..just putting it here in case anyone else receives this email
i got looted 2003 rupees . i received the same mail and enter my credentials. what to do now
the same guy 9094197428 looted my 2003 from my paytm wallet too. i went into paytm & clicked on forgot password with his number. good thing is his account has been blocked by PAYTM. will paytm refund the money any clue brother ???
use the three email Ids I posted, write on the paytm fb wall and sent paytm a message on facebook. they are acting very slowly. This b@##### is looting a lot of people and paytm and mobikwik seem to be doing nothing about it
Most importantly, change all the passwords because we generally tend to keep the same password for all logins. Think of accounts like gmail, facebook, ebay , paytm, freecharge etc….change the password on all of these if they used the same password.

Mobikwik themselves send cashback claim using a link.
I have known standard chartered Credit card to ask for a message to be send from mobile to activate some offers. (And those are genuine)

i guess you have not read properly what i have posted !
anyways you are right that for claiming the cashback mobikwik does sent you the link to claim it.
but if you noticed (i dont think you did that) mobikwik does not ask any credentials or any other details to claim your cashback. its a direct link. that link is only for claiming cashback only limited to your Account. no one else can claim it instead of you. nor anyone can hack the link.
use it from any computer or mobile the cashback would be credited to your account only

If people show common sense, nothing can go wrong. Unfortunately people don’t tend to use it and follow the links/mails blindly.
Like I mentioned earlier.. Using SSO, two step authentication , and checking https in browser windows.
https check won’t help in case the person is using correct certificate for wrong domain.. but I use a password Autofill service.. so in case the domain is wrong.. password is not even prompted.
Another tip.. keep password different for all sites.. I even keep different password for different user on same site.. Because I use a password manager.. remembering password is not an issue for me.. but even otherwise just a small variation should help..
And authentication for password manager is again 2-step.

this word common sense i absent in most of the people, who only see that 95% off in sale or 90%/100% cashback in offers.
and do not worry about anything else
Getting started with 2-step authentication in google.

problem is that through the mail which was sent, no bank account details were asked…they only asked the mobikwik login and after that the gmail login which they would then use to hack into ur paytm, mobikwik and other accounts
