Just a simple warning: I bumped into a site: mithai4all.com providing a 15% discount. When I checked the prices it was more than twice that in any store! How can people charge like this and expect to survive?! And, they have a no-returns policy, even on sealed and packaged foodstuffs! Wonderful isnt it? Daylight robbery or a fantastic new business model? Loot and scoot!

Just a simple piece of advice: Go to the stores directly and buy what you want. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif

But @viveka, that suggestion would hit at the very core of Desidime! https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

I know you dont really mean that, but frankly most people buy online for the convenience and the cost benefit. Afterall, there are no store overheads, just inventory and despatch which in bulk costs minimal. So, online is usually much, sometimes very much cheaper. That was what surprised me, here is an online store selling something available across the street at DOUBLE the price. Don’t Dimers deserve to be informed in case, someone lulled by the general knowledge that online prices are almost always less, buys from this mithai4all.com without comparing the prices elsewhere?

No. If you stop taking words at their face value and understand them based on the context. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif
I suggested it only for the above-mentioned case, not for every online store.

From their site:
Price shown on the website is more than MRP price printed on the mithai or namkeen box. The MRP mentioned on mithai and namkeen box is for the in-person collection at the respective mithai shop. Price shown on mithai4all website is inclusive of other charges such as eshipment charges, packaging charges and taxes as applicable. As a result of accepting these terms and conditions, customer agrees to pay as per the price mentioned on the website and / or invoice generated by mithai4all. No complaints in any court of law, will be entertained by mithai4all after the order is placed as a result of price paid which is more than the MRP at the shop.
Mithai4all will not charge more than the prices mentioned on its web pages but in certain unavoidable circumstances it reserves the right to change the prices anytime, without any prior notice and charge the sender accordingly.

The very first time I read these conditions, I closed the site and never opened it after that. If I want to buy sweets, I go to the local store. Hope you understand what I meant when I wrote the previous post. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks for sharing the info on this platform, though. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

@viveka, firstly, I agree with all you say, also it is clear that you meant it in good stead.

I too closed the mithai4all.com site the moment I saw their ‘notice’.

Their words when translated meant this to me: We are going to rip you off, like no one has ever done before. And, since we write this in fine print, and if, by chance you order without reading this, there is nothing you can do. Ha, Ha!

Like you said, the post was to help those who may miss reading their ‘notice’. Also to make people aware that occasionally there are sites that use such disgusting business tactics. I am sure everyone who bought from mithai4all.com must have felt terribly cheated when they realised their mistake. And, that nothing can be done about it.
