After all my research, I found Daikin is best. But it is costly.

Better to go for inverter AC to reduce bills

Plus the installation charge may be ~5-7khttps://cdn0.desidime.com/Placeholders/No-Image-Available.png

As per my knowledge goes… Except Hitachi., voltas and LG rest all brands are manufactured by a single company and branded by different marketing companies

Not sure of Hitachi because their factory burned down about 2 years back destroying everything.

1. You could have added a sub-meter to get proper current consumption of AC.

2. Your friend is not checking the meter properly.

3. @OP, there are so many good threads on the same topic. Plz go thru them. Buy a stabilizer if there is voltage fluctuation in your area. https://cdn0.desidime.com/Placeholders/No-Image-Available.png

As far I know 1.5 ton AC consumes 1.5kwph that is 1.5 units per hour!

How does inverter ac helps in saving the costs..???

5star power rating is 1450 watts
Then inverter ac rating is between 1400-1430..
Merely, 20-30watts difference.. But the price difference is huge..

Somebody pls explain

@hg916@@ Here is a good example I found on youtube.

main difference between an INVERTER AC and a NON INVERTER AC is Just the COMPRESSOR , rest all is same.
The compressor of an INVERTER AC works on Direct Currrent (DC) {Like in your car battery} .The Alternating Currect (AC 110 V – 230 V) in firstly converted in Direct Current which operates the compressor in an inverter AC.
It is clear from the word "INVERTER " Which means to conver AC to DC or Vice versa.
But in an non inverter AC (or conventional AC) the compressor operates on Alternating current (AC 110 V – 230 V )

Now the benifit of Inverter AC over Non Inverter AC is how it operates.
As a inverter ac uses DC to operate , it can run at higher RPM then a non Inverter AC as a result the inverter ac cools the room fater Resulting in save of energy And lower PULL DOWN TIME.
Secondly, They are diffrent how they Mentain the desired rooM temperature……..
An Inverter AC has an advantage that it can vary the speed of the compressor.
As it reaches the room temperature is slows down it speed to mentain the temperature whare as the non inverter AC switch on and off the compressor to mentain the temperature due to which Inverter AC are more efficient.
Also the inverter AC is also more silent then a non inverter AC .

Overall the Inverter AC’s ARE little bit expensive then Non inverter ac but in long run they save a lot of energy as compared to Non Inverter AC’s

Daikin,Hitachi and Panasonic are good in this list and are a bit expensive than the rest . Buy an ac which has copper coils instead of the aluminium coils. Copper coils are easy to repair than the ones with the aluminium coils.
Bluestar and carrier acs are also good which were not in your list

Air conditioners are one of my favorite topics. Japanese ac’s tend to be better than Koreans . Some of the prominent Japanese brands are fujitsu( general), Hitachi, Mistibushi heavy, Sharp etc. Korean brands includes the likes of Samsung, LG etc. There are a few decent chinese brands too.During my extensive travel across various places in india i have noticed one trend. japanese ac’s such as O general tends to do much better in north india where the ambient temperature during summers can hit 50 degrees while their korean counterparts unfortunately don’t stand a chance at high ambient temp. On the other hands koreans do a decent job down south in places like Bangalore , chennai etc where ambient temps are not too harsh.

If anyone is in the market today for a split AC, do not look beyond inverter AC’s. They are much more efficient than regular split AC’s. Last year i traveled to my in-laws house in Chennai and got a sharp inverter AC installed in master bed room. i was shocked to see the power consumption difference vis a vis 1 star split ac. During a 10 hour run, sharp inverter consumed around 4 units of electricity while on the other hand 1 star split ac consumed close to 11 units if i remember correctly.

I’m a big fan of daikin however they seems to have lost their plot in Indian market just like Hitachi. Both these brands are over priced. Infact daikin does not even include copper pipes in their kit. Sharp on the other hand has exclusively focused on inverter ac’s and priced them decently. At any given day i would choose sharp over Daikin since both of them are neck to neck when it comes to quality and performance however sharp wins due to value for money factor and for being less arrogant as a brand.

If i have to rate AC’s based on brands. this is how my list would look like.

1) O general : I’m referring to the one’s made in middle east. Indian made O generals are not as good as their middle eastern counterparts. If you live in delhi or any northern city with high ambient temp, O general should be your first choice. Electricity consumption will always be on the higher side though.

2) mitsubishi : Excellent cooling. They are more into Hvac systems though. Service is sketchy.

3) Sharp : Excellent durability and quality especially the inverter range of AC’s. Sharp would be my first choice if you are looking for inverter AC’s.

4) Daikin : One of the most silent AC’s around. Cooling is excellent. Overpriced.

5)Hitachi : Makes decent window AC’s. pathetic after sales service. Overpriced.

6) Voltas, LG, samsung : I don’t even bother about these.
