cost wise which is better considering if you only want to see hindi entertainment channel and FTA channels in HD? is there is some good offer for 6 month or 12 month?
But even light clouds disturb the show with DTH. Very annoying, am in cloudy weather for last 1 month and DishTV is the worst, does not work smooth like in other seasons.
But I do not like cable quality and outages also. No offers for cable charges.
Not the case with tatasky
We are on den cable.
It’s been the worst experience I ever had from past few months.
The cable goes “no signal” anytime made numerous compliant but it keeps happening frequently.
Picture quality is worst and most of time many channel are like watching a scratched DVD.
Over that can’t change channel as per my wish easily as the process is still manual and have to ask operator to add or remove channels.
No online payment options so no offers also.
Switching this month to DTH if everything goes right.
I also used to have Den cable, worst quality service. I bought firestick and got rid of it in the last prime day sale. At my hometown got one Vu android TV and since then stopped using DTH as well
i am in delhi , major cable player have online payment/paytm option ; i even got a welcom offer of 500/3month HD from local cable , but then only for 4-5 entertainment cahnnel i have churn 260/month ; was wondering if i cud save through DTH way
and yes this cloud problem for DTH how severe is that?
how is the quality of channels through broadband
I also using den cable and it it’s been worst experience. Go for tatasky i also going to take new connection next month

It’s available for ₹1100 on komparify but not sure about them.
Den has one advantage , the HD box as displayed on their website has option to make the desired channel to desired number on remote
I have DEN HD box but I don’t see this option in my remote.

i only watch (star,star bharat,sony,color,&Tv,zee classic,) and cable guy is charging 267 for them
In my city (Gorakhpur u.p) i pay 240 rs for only star pack

Was using Cable TV since ages.
Initially was hesitant to switch to DTH cause DTH was expensive than Cable few years back (new connection was also too expensive) and wasn’t facing much issues with cable either.
However with the new TRAI order everything changed!
The cable TV where I used to pay ₹200-₹300 per month max for 2 connections went upto ₹600, and to worsen the things, the cable TV operator wouldn’t allow me to choose the channels and would select them entirely as per their own will to make to pay more, to get 1 channel added, I’d have to chase them for months.
Also they didn’t accept any type of online payment neither did I receive any receipt for my payment and I was missing out offers on DTH recharges.
I realised that Tata Sky prices have come down a little and Tata Sky is cheaper than my cable TV (not to mention the online offers and immense flexibility they offer, like we can subscribe to a channel for even one day)
I got it installed last week from Amazon, monsoons are here and I’ve observed that the signals go out only when there’s very very heavy rain else it’s always working even with light rains too and complete cloud cover (my neighbour has Videocon D2H or D2H and their connection goes out even when there’s a simple cloud cover)
Picture quality is far better than my cable also.
Have booked another multi TV connection should get it installed soon.
And I thought about Firestick and all but the problem is that we can’t expect old people to get used to them easily.
I can get used to them easily but my family members can’t and as it’s them who watches TV not me, it wouldn’t serve the purpose for me

1.ok first there is a lot diff between some small local cable oprator and big payer like DEN and hathway ; big player have there own website and also have this cahnnel choosing
2.cable TV suffer from zero loss due to weather or any heavy rain, further maintanence is free and just a call away unike DTH guy who will charge and fix appoiuntment
3.Incertain cable box like white HD box of DEN you can put desired number for desired cahnnel which is usefull for old people , they can tune to zee classci movie at 1 or 2
this is absent i think in DTH (correct me if i am wrong)
4.owever the cost of cable is rising and in par with DTH and plus there may be offer of DTH by which it may go cheap then cabl ein long ru n, that what i am asking
I have Tata Sky from past two years and it has never disappoint me in terms of weather prediction. Even a single drop makes my screen goes into jingala-la mode. Now last month i switched to Hathway. Pretty much cheap compare to Tata Sky.
I had also opted for TataSky firestick offer which was very costly.
Now Cable also has certain offers for OTT platforms which makes it pretty much reasonable.
So if Cable is available in your area, it should always be a preferred choice and one should refrain from getting any gimmickry offers from DTH operators.

I have Airtel HD DTH, 2 connections and used to pay 1000/- per month (12K per year). It is due for recharge as of yesterday. Now on I’m using Amazon Prime, Zee5, Hotstar and Netflix on both TV’s. These 4 are like 4K per year and I already have a 20 mbps-unlimited broadband internet connection which works well. I pay 8K per year for this connection. So with this change, I would be saving 8K per year.
Netflix/prime video works well in 20 Mbps connection?
Dish tv is much better because u can recharge 30 also
It’s been years now started using Thop tv,hotstar and Amazon prime will do with good broadband connection ,no extra charges for DTH so get good speed and download data availability

No dear I have dish tv since 2003.
Yes light showers used to create signal problem but that is the thing of the past.
Now that problem is no more.
I am from Kolkata, even during the Amphan cyclone there was very little downtime.
I say DTH anyday over cable tv. The multi room plan for dth is always less than cable tv. The local cabletv wala does not give any discount for multiroom.
The rain problem of dth is thing of the past. No such problem any more. Even during Amphan cyclone there was no problem.
Only problem is the dish alignment changes due to heavy wind or birds sitting on the dish antenna. I know how to align the dish so not a problem for me.
Though the dish alignment change is a rare thing but when it happens you need to call the technician which costs money. You can always clean how to align the dish which is not very difficult.
Can you guide me on techniques to align dth antenna. Is there any device or anything else
There should be an option to upvote some comments so they could appear on top of any discussion or deal…. For these type of discussions it’s hard to go through each comment and find out what’s actually good.

I stopped DTH last year, and everything Online since then. Very very few things that are not available live and thopTv and other live streaming apps are live savers when we need live streaming rarely.
Any idea if there are any app like thop TV for firestick

Other FTA channels other than DD channels
NO english movie channels
Rs300 per month…No discounts:-(

same here , these days with lots and lots of ads its better to watch online with ad blocker ,live news is far far better online with ability to skip the undesired part , even in news debate i skip the part of participent i dont want to hear same rheoterical
live news on youtube have option of pause and rewind upto 12 hour past
and for series, sometime i pity netflix and hotstar user that even after paying subscription they dont get to see all shows available also many shows/scene/dialogue get cut and censorred due to some XYZ objecting (they will have to multiple subscription of many OTT) while on net some thing are easily avalable as POPCORN TV with HD content and without ads covering multiple OTT providers
For ex. look at newly launchd DIsney plus , the ducktales and mickey mouse are diff from what was originalyl aired on DD , you pay and dont get the originals
only place DTH/cable is for elderly who are not well conversed with tech
and these DTH operator have made worse to them
when anyone open tata sky its a loud voice of ad, then there is space shuttle remote which have to enter some ike 3 digit number to access channel all this cant be done by elderly waqtching alone
miss old days of cable with 100/- they use to show all channel with own TV remote which had lots and lots of option then these cheap chinise remote
sometime i think private player have made worse , for ex. once there was LIC and it was all fine plans , now there are multiple insurance company and all look marketing
we consumer are crushed between DTH/modern cable and OTT provider
Best two are Tata Sky & Airtel.

These days prices are same whether u hv cable or dish tv, u should go for tata sky/dish tv as atleast u can save money while top up
