congrats guys i came very close to ordering this sat on the final page for a good 30 mins and then decided it didn’t fit in with my usage habits (need something similar to lg gram but hopefully cheaper)

After a long wait received this laptop yesterday.
having i7 6 core processor and 16gb ram and 1tb ssd doesn’t mean this laptop is amazing. i’m comparing COST vs VALUE
the only things that matter in laptop is
1. Build Quality (0/100)
2. Sound Quality (0/100)
3. Keyboard Quality (10/100)
4. Display Quality (0/100)
5. Touchpad (-100/100)
because those are the only things humans use to interact with computer
Cons:
1. in one word its GARBAGE laptop
2. its cheap plastic made all around
3. 1080p screen is AWFUL. color are washed. colorgrade is joke. its TN panel. its ’ IPS Level ’ Display. NOT IPS display. companies started cheating in the name of IPS Level display. lot of screen flex at bottom middle of screen above camera. can easily break the screen with short press. already GUM between screen and frame detached when lid closed and opened on 5th time. its not sticking again
4. hinges are VERY WEAK. can easily breakout
5. audio from laptop speakers is DIRTY. no dedicated subwoofer and audio amplifier (i owned MSI GT70 2OC 065US laptop purchased in 2013 from USA. it has subwoofer, creative sound card inbuilt and screen was awesome)
6. touchpad is tiny. not smooth
VERDICT:
This exact legion series had very bad reviews in USA. I previously owned MSI, ASUS gaming laptops that are made of aluminum. they were heavy, strong. but not cheap plastic like lenovo. Its better to buy thinkpad series from lenovo

P.S.: But even before I receive the product, I must thank you for such a great deal. I needed to buy a laptop with atleast rtx 2060 for my research (gaming being secondary). And I was even considering buying MSI GL73 or Lenovo Legion Y540. Either way, any one of them would have costed me 1.2 L. Thank you for saving quite a lot of bucks.
Not sure how to identify TN vs IPS display, color calibration looks fine to me default (any changes make it too washed out).
When you look at the screen from wide extreme Angles , do they colours appear different?

All right. I received my laptop today only. Here is my first impression.
I updated the bios first, after setting up windows. I recommend you to do the same.
Everything is received as per as my costumization.
There is no gum in the hinge. There is just plastic covers are there. There is a slight gap between body and the display base. It is intentional. So, nothing to worry about. Had it been touching the body, display could not be opened smoothly, because of friction.
Let’s talk about Audio quality, bass and stuff. I don’t think anyone uses laptop speakers anymore. Speakers don’t produce phenomenal output, given the fact that this is a very budget laptop.

Display doesn’t look vibrant because it doesn’t use glossy tech. Matt finish display ll always look bland in comparison to glossy ones. This looks great. For the price paid it’s perfect. Actually Asus ROG gives near 100% sRGB coverage, at least that’s what they preach. Naked eyes can’t measure that. Go to the link above. It’s Lenovo Y540’s review. It uses exactly the same display. PWM free display is a welcome feature
Build quality is solid. Made of plastic. But quality is very good.
Well laptop is light weight gaming laptop. Power brick cord is very short though.

Congrats on finally getting it! I did the bios update as well and noticed the bios is for Y540! Confirms the suspicion that this is a rebranded and led changed Y540 with upgraded specs.
@snickers bro please visit a nearest service station or contact Lenovo. I could not find TN panel on my laptop. It’s a 100% legit IPS panel. It’s not IPS level, it’s an IPS panel. MSI provides IPS level TN panels because of the response time. 2-3ms response time can’t be achieved on an IPS panel at this price range. All pro players use TN panels for that response and high refresh rate. MSI gives good TN panels though.

This is an absolutely beast machine. I sold my MSI GS65 THIN RE which I purchased last year for 1.5 lakh to keep this. Does not bog down under pressure and you can easily undervolt the CPU and CPU Cache by around -140 m volt to keep a cooler profile. Does not thermal throttle at all. 
Using with -0.150v offset, very stable
Still the fan makes too much noise and I’m noticing temperature spike upto 95c at times
Annoying part about this (CPU under volting) is that, u need to do it again everytime (No BIOS modifications) you switch on your laptop*

Haha. He does not have anything bad to say now. He referred the thick plastic wrapper around the hinges as gum. He said gap between the display and base as defects. He called a nice, premium wide color gamut sporting display as cheap TN panel. He should try to sell it in some OLX or Quiker. Seriously, I really thought this Laptop is that bad as it was still out of reach of my hands. Once I received the product, I quickly understood, why he was saying like that. Most probably he did not want to buy, he wanted something metallic finished, thick heavy metal bodied laptop. I tried to communicate with him. But he is not talking to me.
