Came in here to tell my story, quite interesting.

So bought this laptop from PayTM, Delhi Retailer, but from PayTM marketplace. It was 530S ideapad , and it has been 6 months I bought it. It worked fine for 3 months but suddenly motherboard fried. Asked for help and they replaced it, it worked for a month and then again motherboard fried. LOL , then last month again the same shit. I talked to their CS, Tech Team, Risk Team, Escalation team and said I am simply done with this laptop as same issue in last 3 months and I cant hamper my wokr every month for motherboard change and I asked for replacement of this laptop with a newer modem(not same model as Googling about this model brought same issue to other customers too). I asked for S540 and they didn’t agree. Asked for refund and they said no. I complained to National consumer Helpline and Consumer forums and still nothing. I threatened them and just nothing. Then I thought why not contact that retailer and I knew that retailer well and he said i shd have called them the first time this happened and they could have gotten me a refund or replacement. Anyways what’s done is done and he said he will talk to Lenovo North India head for consumer relations who is based out of GGN and said he has to place an order of 500 laptops and he won’t place the order until my concern is resolved. I was told 100 of times again to get the mother replaced and I simply denied. So finally after 20 days of me being non negotiating , they gave me DOA letter and replaced my old laptop with newer model without a penny. I have always loved Lenovo , i have been using their laptops for 15 years and I never had issues but this laptop was a headache. I would have given up and told them to change the motherboard but I wanted to take my chances and it worked. To people here, don’t PM me asking for Lenovo’s senior’s or retailer info and It’s impossible for a company to issue you a DOA after 15 days of purchase, they did it after 6 months and I am grateful and alot surprised and feeling lucky.

Guys, you need to do one thing. Maybe you have already done this. Our Laptop comes with NVMe SSD. But in the UEFi settings in the “Storage” option AHCI is selected in place of RST. If you change to RST then drive becomes really fast. But you need to reinstall windows. I hope you guys gonna do it.

Did you do any disk speed tests? I didn’t find any issues with drive speeds, I think I did some crystal disk mark tests. Maybe we can compare results. Reinstalling windows is a big headache so trying to avoid if possible.

I really do not understand these as I have to google them, which I will definitely gonna do. Kindly tell me how does RST mode perform against AHCI mode? we both have data and please compare the both. I am a noob in this area. smile
Edit: my SSD is an Intel 760p one. What about yours?

Update. No need to change into RST mode. It ll support NVMe drives, AHCI mode will do just fine. 🙂 I researched a lot and I tested the fact by doing those things by myself. 🙂
