Jio offered 3300 GB data with 399 plan

what about deposit? Also jio is offering one month free and lowest plan in 399 for jio so that’s an advantage there if usage is low.

those who is interested in xtream. box ( existing or new) please read these faqs : source airtel.in

1. What is the offer to the consumer?

All broadband consumers (799 plans and above) are eligible to get an Xstream box with a refundable security deposit of 1500.

2. Can the offer be pitched to only new acquisitions or also to the base BB?

It can be pitched to current broadband consumer as well who are on plans of 999 and above

3. How many Sec deposit Connections can he take with his broad band connection?

The consumer can avail the offer for original as well as secondary connection (4 in addition to the original connection) -

Secondary has to be installed in the same premises as primary connection
RTN to be same as primary connection
4. What if the consumer is an Existing DTH consumer and wants to avail the offer?

Existing DTH consumers who are on HD / SD boxes (and who are now broadband consumer) can also avail the offer, as an upgrade offer (where we will take the away the old box and replace with new stream box)

5. What else does he get with the offer in terms of content?

The consumer will need to purchase linear content pack with this plan of Rs 452, the same needs to be purchased to activate the box. So effectively the consumer pays 1500 + 452 = 1952

Secondary connection content cost will be Rs 360 instead of 452 the NCF charges are lower as per NTO guidelines, so secondary connection will be for 1500+ 360 = 1800

There is no OTT content available as part of the box, however all Broadband consumers today get some or all of the following content ( Xstream, Zee 5 and Amazon prime) as part of the package with the broadband connection

6. What content does she get in Rs 452?

Our 452 pack is a high definition packs – has a good mix of GEC , Movies , News , Music , Kids and Infotainment channels ( All the Channels are not HD , please refer to list )

As part of package all consumers also get mandatory DD channels and a set of roughly 225 +Free to Air ( FTA ) channels also as part of the package , List is attached.

7. Can the consumer change the 452 linear plan to a plan of his choice going forward or does he have to stick to this plan?

The consumer can change the plan to a plan of his choice anytime by going to the Airtel thanks app, Xstream App (companion app) , TV App , Local retailer or reach out to the call centre

8. Consumer is not very interested in Linear content and wants to use the xstream box primarily to watch OTT content

We have a variety of plans ranging at all price points which give you a good range of channels at minimal costs of 199 / month or he can make his own pack as well and the same needs to be informed to him.

In case the consumer still doesn’t want to watch linear at all he need to be informed that the box will need to be recharged for the NCF ( network capacity fee ) for Rs 153 every month in order to offer services on the box . As part of paying the NCF he is entitled to watch 225 + Free to Air channels and mandatory DD channels . The Box runs only till it has positive balance in the account and will need to be recharged to continue using the services

Quality matters
People prefering quality stayed with airtel even if its Rs100-150 more compared to jio for 56/84 day plans.
Let’s see what happens in broadband fight
Already local players are well established …not an easy task

I don’t understand customer care is saying in your area we can offer a maximum speed of 17 Mbps which is way too lower than a minimum plan of 40 Mbps but asking me to go for higher varient to avoid installing charges. What’s the point of going to higher plan when the speed is capped to 17 Mbps. Just Airtel things

Mean you have copper line in your area not fiber.

while buying xtreme box its showing total to pay 1900+ , but i dont want to have this dth service at all

Deal Cadet Deal Cadet

You need to have active dth monthly, can’t have xstream box without the same. Spoke to airtel just now, they will take away the box if you disable dth

I have 799 plan (with some discount) with 299 top up. (+GST) Current speed is 24 mbps (Non-fibre).

Now they have installed fibre in my area. Fibre was to be activated before 5th in my area, but I think, it got disrupted due to new Jio plans. They were streamlining their new plans.

Jio fibre will also be ready in my area by 15th.

I am seeing both companies ’ cheapest plan is better and cheaper than my current plan.

Airtel is 499+GST @ 40mbps
Jio is 399+GST @ 30mbps

How can I migrate to Airtel Fibre 499 or 799 plan?

Even 499 plan seems good to me. My association is 15 Yr long with airtel and would like to stick with them if they migrate my plan to any one of these.

I am on 799 (-100 discount) + GST with 100 mbps upload and download. Unlimited data.
Additionally airtel offered 100 rs discount for 6 months.
So 799-200 = 599 plus taxes for 100 mbps unlimited now.
No impact due to new plan.
But curious to know if airtel offering xtreme box upgrade free as I also have airtel hd dth

My plant too got converted to unlimited now.

With Airtel xstream, xstream box is available at 1500 plus additional first month charges.

Only difference now is monthly dth charges. All channels are almost free with jio. Any thoughts ?

Jio Unlimited plan is going to cost me more,

I earlier used 799+gst i.e. ~1000 for the plans which included most, i had prime from normal purchase, not needed netflix
but now 999+gst is minimum for OTT plans. I guess it is going to cost me more.

Can someone clarify, is JIOTV free with normal plans below 999?

I have prime and hotstar by normal means, zee+ from timesprime

Moreover i believe that to get OTT benefits from Airtel new plans, one has to recharge DTH account for minimum NCF of Rs 153

One thing I want to share here:
Here I see many saying that they were using 299+tax to make plan unlimited, but I was using this unlimited with a trick.

Trick was to activate 299+tax plan only when main data was exhausted.
e.g I was getting 150 GB data with my plan, it was serving just 15-18 days of month, sometime 20-25 days. So I was activating 299+tax plan only when I was done with all plan data, In this way in each billing cycle I was only charged for maximum 15 days (maximum 180 extra)
In this way I never paid full 299+tax for using unlimited data.

Thanks did the same today at start of month. Will see if needed again after exhaust. Good tip. blush

Yes, it used to be 300 gb for me as well and my usage has always been around 250 gb/pm. Now my plan is upgraded to 4000 gb/pm and I have used 1000 gb in 10 days with the same usage I have been doing for 3 years.
How can one speak with CC . It seems routing me to the app for every VAR

I have 799 100 MBps and then 299 top up for unlimited  data, now 799 is unlimited.

Here is my screenshot of airtel thanks app. Where also 799 shows unlimited. Should I just deactivate 299 top-up from app or anything else need to be done as well to confirm ?
