My one idea number is Deactivated which had more than 200 main balance because of inactivity. I have recharged before two months with 48 rs. Pack. It’s deactivation date was around December 2021. But suddenly it becomes inactive. Visited vi store they said number is permanently closed and after complaint to appellate and twitter they said number is not reflecting in our system. This number is linked in my mother’s bank account. I have done all efforts but no helps.

Update : I have complained on consumer helpline they told me to visit other vi store no other help by them. I have argue with them is all store different all have same server. Why they not reactivate number if it not alloted to other. Only 5-7 days before sim was working. Vi store telling ask 198 and 198 telling visit vi store. I have gone 2 times but no store manager. They not giving store manager number either. Why I visit other vi store which is 12 km far?

In 4 Vi nos. in which OG validity was set at late 2021 by the time this Service Validity nonsense started I haven’t activated any SV pack till date. Keep making at least one OG call every month though.

Today also store manager not present at store so can’t do anything. Come back after argue with executives. They only repeati g one thing number is permanently closed and can’t activated. Any help is welcome. This number had. balance in it and also linked in Paytm, Amazon, Payzapp etc.

They won’t do anything even if you go for many years. File a complaint in consumer forum. They can’t deactivate anyone’s number without informing them. You will get your number and compensation for sure.
Keep all your chats, email communication safe now in one folder by taking screenshots.
Remember sometimes the issue appears small but it requires good amount of effort and have far reaching impact. Maybe you also be able to teach these Musturds a good lesson. Make the Vodafone store people a co-party with Vodafone company. Good luck.

According to trai
if a prepaid consumer’s account has a balance of Rs 20 or more, then that connection will not be deactivated. Prepaid customers will be able to go in for an ‘Automatic Number Retention Scheme’ by paying the necessary charges..
Importantly, a consumer whose connection has been deactivated will be given a grace period of 15 days to reactivate their number. Service providers are also directed to inform consumers the terms and conditions regarding the deactivation of inactive SIMs in a transparent manner.

Sim providers will only disconnect our sim when there is no 90 day inactivity. It had nothing to do with recharge or any other things. Also I have jio and airtel which has recharged a year ago. But they do not disconnects the sim and only catcy is that we have to put that airtel or jio sim card in a phone and gets network covered

I am getting SMS from Vi on a regular basis in the nos. that aren’t used much about Rs 20 deduction for extension of non-usage period by 30 days in case of no usage for 90 days.

rather opt for a network which gives the lollipop of free one month combo pack for MNP customers.
or like with R-Jio (due to the 99Rs pack/membership) maybe even one year (or two year?) incoming without additional recharging.
just be cautious that some employee who has targets, doesn’t lie to you abd charge 30-40Rs. as SIM charges.
[many times Airtel, Voda, R-Jio who offer first month free benefits to MNP customers, are still having distributor and salesman/employee nexus who keep 10-20 rupees for self. side business]

Will the company (Vi) which is calling me 10 times a day & sending continuous SMS’s pleading not to leave them just because I sent an SMS for UPC code literally disconnect my sim like this without warning for being inactive?
It feels as if 2 different teams are working together in a same company one trying to retain one trying to kick customers.

Right now vi has a ₹78 recharge where in you can choose callertunes… This anyway keeps your account active (incoming calls) but outgoing calls do not work. The validity is 89 days

I am using without airtel sim from last three years without any recharge.. Otp comes.. No incoming or outgoing…. Airtel is much more linent in this case… As well as jio… As they are competing for max active users… Vi is not a serious player anymore…. It is best to keep bsnl as your secondary sim with 365 rs plan voucher

Update : After talking to store manager on Saturday. They told they will ask their head office and if possible they will issue it to me. Today got call come and get sim with same number by paying 750 with Antivirus or take postpaid. I asked why Antivirus? They told not possible without Antivirus.
Now no solution possible and it’s better for me to change number in bank. Can anyone tell if I change number in bank then can I use upi with this number in amazon? Is it possible to change mobile number in amazon, Mobikwik, payzapp etc
