To dimers thinking about surrendering existing BB and opting for new one; they have a clause but I think it is at the discretion of local bsnl officer & can be overcome
To curb the tendency of existing Broadband customers to disconnect existing BB connection & take new BB connection through this low value BB plan route, same landline indicator shall not be allotted to such customers. The same shall be ensured by ITPC/Circles.

Register on http://selfcare.sdc.bsnl...in and under Services look for something like “Create a Ticket” or “Submit a request”. Best would be to go to Local Exchange and give it in writing.
Regarding SMS – That’s just a notification about data limit & speed increase done last month for all plans.

By the time they process the application to cancel your broadband (I was told in some places it takes quite a long time even though they would stop the billing on the day of application submission) and process the new request this offer would have ended?

Won’t mention all their foul moves, but at least let’s not forget their audacious move that violated net neutrality and attempted to make us pay them for voip (whatsapp calls, etc), for hailing cabs and other transactions. They attempt to squeeze as much from us by providing pathetic services and attempt to go against the tide of technology. What does JIO do? Goes with the tide and gives us more value. Not at all saying reliance is saintly. Just pointing out different ways of approaching issues.

No if they change the landline terms and conditions it will be applicable to you also. Only the broadband plan is locked for 2 years
So only data thing would be locked right ???
No, only rental is locked. If they modify data or speed it would apply.
No that won’t happen because these are limited time offers available in certain cities. So the plan 611 won’t be available for anyone else. Once you pay for it, the plan just locks for that period even though it won’t be available for anyone else to subscribe. Maybe only if they change the after FUP speed from 1mbps to 2 mbps (jk) it would apply but the basic FUP doesn’t change
Hope they increase the post-FUP speed as well as the data limit for all plans again

Couple of years back in Bangalore they had some festival offer of 10gb FUP (4mbps) for 549 (then it was with a 20% discount for govt employees with more discount for 3 years payment) and till now it has not changed because they won’t touch the FUP limit of such plans.
Wish they regularly offer such plans in other circles too. BTW what about the post-FUP speed on that plan now? Is it still 512kbps or 1Mbps?
TRAI is set to upgrade the minimum broadband speed to 2Mbps. So BSNL will bump the post-FUP to 2Mbps later on.
http://tech.firstpost.com/news-analysis/upgradi...
That’s exactly what I’m hoping for. My last wish (512 kbps min speed) took several years to be fulfilled but hope this happens sooner than later. Airtel is very manipulative and misleading. You never know they may suggest TRAI that only pre-FUP speed should be set to min 2Mbps speed.

This is a good plan from BSNL, I am a BSNL broadband user and i am happy with service of BSNL currently. In past i had terrible experience with BSNL though.
Few members asked about Installation charges – Installation charges will give you shock so be prepared.
They will ask you to pay 1 month advance + BB Installation Charge + Landline Installation charge + Device charge+ Modem Charge if you buy from them
I applied for 700/- Plan and my first month bill was 4450/-
@ajay20 wrote:
Agree plan is good, but BSNL is a big NO NO
Zero customer service, Broadband will start disconnecting when it rains, Lineman take 5 days to come and need a bribeof atleast 150/-.
AGREEEEEEEE 100000 times. SAD
Lucky me, mere pass 99.9% uptime rehta hai BSNL broadband ka. Only it’s like 1-2hr pause when their fiber broke which generally happens in 2-3 months or so… Plus when they started losing connections because of competition form Local ISPs they are implementing special plan for my Township (50GB 10Mbps and after 50 @ 2Mbps unlimited for ₹1000+taxes n will get 5% off as central govt rebate). They said UTube data wouldn't be counted in high speed Quota. So win win for me. I'll be moving form my current local ISP 50GB
10Mbps unlimited to this BSNL as they will be providing with optical fiber which is dead stable Internet…
Should i change to bsnl from airtel broadband…well no issues with airtel as of now…just a low charges of bsnl are attractive…..

For me they gave connection after 6 months of applying and charged like above and nowhere mentioned about all these charges. Worst ever service I have seen in my life.
