10 paisa daily evening allowance for candy or orange bar icecream. Bubble gum was 15 paisa and was a luxury as was dudh wali icecream. . 5star or double decker (anybody remembers) was staple picnic treat. Money was never short for non-luxurious items like books .
@eheh Yes dear, I remember the Cadbury’s Double-Decker chocolate. The bubblegum you are refering to was from NP brand 007 that pink wali bubblegum. Right? Seems like we are of similar age group. You must have tried the Sandhwich Doodh Wali Icecream on which the Icecreamwala used to put waffle biscuits on both the sides? Parle Kisme Candy, Santre Wali Goliyan, Rubber Ki Goliyan, and PHANTOM Sweet Cigarretes were very popular at that time.
Growing up, it definitely would have been dining in the AC section of a restaurant.
Eating expensive biriyani and Ferrero rocher chocolate
Visited first time in a mall (when it was the first mall in my area, i was a kid), that too for mcdonalds happymeal pickachu .
That was truly ka luxurious moment for me.
And having that softy omg, i still remember it.
But saalo ne pickachu ki jagah dinasor diya
Having people who love unconditionally. ❤️
All foreign fast foods like kfc, pizzahut, bbq. It always potrait as rich food . Visiting a star hotel, drives high end cars, visiting mall to buy clothes
getting ‘UNLIMITED’ broadband set-up at home.. thanks to Jio to expanding JioFiber in tier-III cities to make that luxury possible!! 😋💯🤩
Middle class challenges make our future bright
In 2000 when i was in 10th my father bought desktop PC (P3 processor and LG color monitor). Neighbours and relative used come and see it.
Even getting an extra ice cream as Sunday desserts
that time when multiplexes came and the regular theaters started to become extinct. Could really feel the quality difference. We used to watch most of the movies at Victory theater , West end cinema in Pune. But when Inox came, wow, it was a higher level alltogether. The sound, picture quality, vaccum like silence and airconditioning...sometimes even the lovely fragrance of popcorn. Even at Inox, used to watch morning shows as the ticket pricing was high, never purchased popcorn...would smuggle snacks inside. Just recently its become strict and they don't allow outside snacks but earlier it was possible to hide in the bag.
getting 1 rs every alternate day for toffee/chocolate.
in childhood i dreamt of luxury bike and cars
fulfilled bike car is still a dream!
and dreamt of cycle used to save 10 or 15rs a day and bought in 1year !

Using Durex instead of Nirodh
AC is a luxury to me.
In last two months, gmail app showed me adverts for Audi. That was my luxury moment.
Today gmail showed me promotional mails for Audi X1.
Feeling elated.
Being from a middle class family I think we forget about luxuries once we start realising our responsibilities.
Depends on age, my earliest crush was 5Rs Bar-one. Could never buy. After some 5-6 years, I finally got it as gift, price was 12-13 rs then. It was just ok and felt the 2rs "5 star" was much better. 😄
Having a car
Getting Ferrero Rocher from relatives when they returned from vacations was a luxury.
I think for me, i think luxury life make me feel sick. I don’t like Bike,Car or any luxury product.
