Dear dimers,
I am planning on getting a 43" smart TV and considering the following brands VU, OnePlus and MI.
More inclined towards VU as I already have a 32" model at home (non-smart TV) and the panel quality is great but worried about how well smart TV has been implemented.
How are OnePlus and MI? I keep hearing about Hisense too, how is it?
Main requirements:
1. Good panel
2. Easy to use interface for smart TV as it will be used by parents
3. Good sound clarity, not too keen on loud volume as it will be used in bedroom.
Thanks in advance
check the negative reviews(1 star) on flipkart/amazon..m sure after reading that u wont tend to buy shitty MI tv..if u hv budget then go for sony, else VU/lg/smasung or maybe nokia etc are fine
Any particular reason ?
I don’t like colour profile of Mi TV & my friend who purchased a different model didn’t appreciate the picture quality.
Vu is a decent option. My cousin has Vu cinema (Android TV interface) & it’s running without any issues since last October.
After Vu, iFFALCON gets decent reviews but don’t have personal experience. Do check the reviews.
Hisense is OEM for various brands & models like H8G & H9G get good reviews in US. But it’s a new entrant in Indian market. It’s not clear whether they’re launching their well reviewed models or dumping 2-3 year old models in India. Still do check for reviews excluding it. If they launch new technology in India then they’ll do very well.
Many of these TV’s have ‘Android Tv’ which is heavy but offers comprehensive options with regards to apps.
Thanks for the comprehensive opinion. Will consider these points.
@raghupro Go for hisense or VU whichever is available in your pincode. Both are 98% same as panels are made by hisense only. Only diff is in remote 🙂 Im currently using hisense 43inch 4k tv and touchwood its working fine till now. Do get extended warranty for protection. My bro has mitv , its also good however its picture, sound quality is not at the same level as hisense, vu.
That’s what I was worried about with MI too. Will consider your inputs and decide depending on deals during BBD sale. I am assuming it would be easier to get a VU TV and that would have better deals too.
I will avoid both Vu and Mi. Had a very bad experience with Vu last time., Panel gone bad after one year..
I got a VU TV for my grandma’s room 2 years ago and it’s been working without any issues and she uses it quite extensively.
On the flipside, our Sony TV in the hall which costs 7 times more than the 32" VU TV got major issues twice in three years. We had to even replace the motherboard once by paying 16k.
TVs of the past are reliable in terms of quality but not anymore. Even the best of the brand’s hardly last 4 to 6 years at max so I see no point in spending a premium unless it offers that worth.
Our previous 32" LG TV purchases in 2007 was so damn sturdy and weight almost 20 to 25Kgs. It had good sized speakers on both size with large bezels and our current 50" Sony TV weighs less than my previous 32" LG tV.
I think one should go for lg or samsung since they are much reliable brands.
u say like that but as per my personal experience within 1 year LG the panel was gone bad, then they replaced. But replaced one lasted again for more 2 years. So LG was a total disaster for me, ended up wasting huge money on this 4k TV.
Skip LG LED TV, their panel goes bad very quikly. They will develop lines.
Selling 1000 offer coupon, applicable for all android tvs in flipkart above 10k
Which one did you buy?
Still thinking man. Mostly would be VU
The non-4k Hisense has bad reviews on amazon and so does OnePlus TV.
I was planning to get it during BBD but I hear that GoI is planning to hike taxes on TVs starting October 1st so contemplating if I have to go ahead and get one now or wait for BBD.
Ok pls tag me just after placing order.
Need to buy 43" one for a friend. reliable main priority <25K
Will do so.
Planning to get 32" mostly unless there is some crazy deal on 43". Will anyways let you know once I finalise and get one.
Samsung 80cm (32 inch) HD Ready LED TV
https://dl.flipkart.com/dl/samsung-80cm-32-inch...
How is it?
Want to buy a non smart tv
Just up your budget and upgrade to 43 inch non smart. You will get VFM.
Forget this discussion on smart tv here . These guys will anyways sell these on olx in 3 years when play store blocks thier tv for obsolete android version. .
nokia has launched new TVs with Onkyo sound
why not just get this? https://www.amazon.in/Samsung-Inches-Wondertain...
reputed brand and peace of mind
I don’t consider the so called good brands to be peace of mind. I have a 32" samsung TV that I purchased in 2015, in just 2 years I started seeing patches on screen.
This was the model: Samsung 32H5100 81 cm (32) Full HD LED Television
We have a Sony Bravia 50" W800D that I got for a whooping 75k 3 years ago. Just in 2 years the motherboard got screwed and I had to shell out 16k for it. Then a few months later the power brick got screwed and had to shell out 2k for it.
TVs these days from reputed brands are not of the same quality like they used to be a decade or so ago. What I realised is that any TV, be it from a reputed or a non-reputed brand lasts around 5 years so I see no point in shelling out a premium for a known brand.
As of now I find the realme 43" TV to be a decent deal. I have seen a comparison review of OnePlus TV, Realme TV and Mi TV (not the horizon edition) and realme seems to be the most balanced in terms of sound and display though other two TVs are better in some aspects too.
As of now the deal price is 20k for 43" TV + bank discount on Flipkart.
And what about the newly launched Motorola tv’s under 20k?

Check out, panel replacement costs, wether you will be affordable out not with that price.
Then choose from Flipkart which provides extended warranty or complete protection (one accidental damage included) based on your pin code.
Motorola and Nokia are Flipkart’s Marq brand TV only. They have brand licensing, it’s upto you to trust them, I won’t.
All Android tvs are the same. So quality and features speak, like Dolby Atmos/vision, hdr 10.
Any suggestions on which brands are good. Looking for the TV to survive at least 5 years.
Which is the best TV then OnePlus is bekar out of MI and Realme at 43" what should I choose. Can VU be an option
Might be wrong but from I read MI has a bit better panel but realme has better sound and almost similar panel.
I too will be buying a TV 50"during the Sale…
First decided to go with 40 or 43, But now everyone is having a 40 or 43 so thought wud buy a bigger one 50’ TV , cant go with 55(36000Rs) more expensive
Filtered to Mi & VU.
More puchases and Reviews r for Mi TV for the brand value and VU is performance is also very good comparing to MI, & VU costs lesser compared to MI.
But VU Tvs are out of stock. Dont know if its in my area But Showing out of Stock, else wud be going for 50 Inch Vu for 30000Rs (Outofstockprice)
Finally will be going with
Mi 4X 125.7 cm (50) Ultra HD (4K) LED Smart Android TV 32000Rs +
1,999 (Complete TV Protection (3 years))
Hope I wud be able to use he TV for 3 years without Any Tension.
Dimers Any suggestion or Advice ( Seen many Dimers saying dot go with Shitty Mi and all – At this price range, features and brand name I feel Mi is good (The Mi Phone Lover))
If you are tight with your budget then you may go for it. I’ll also wouldn’t recommend Mi. I feel Vu is much better than Mi (when I compared it to Vu I found Vu to be more good). TCL LEDs give 3 year comprehensive warranty. I would to go for some branded led or else settle for Vu or TCL which is much cheaper
Go for panasonic 40inch fullhd or hisense/vu(if in stock) or newly launched toshiba 4k tv. Im using hisense 4k tv from last 2 months and loving it. Looking to buy 50inch TV during sale for my hall room.
As i mentioned previously, i have a soft spot for panasonic as i have excellent experience with them. Had bought 4 TVs from panasonic and each one of them were very good. Infact i have split ac of panasonic which is working well for past 8yrs with only 2 time gas refilling needed.
Panasonic was leader for plasma tech in TV. Sony & Sharp were behind it.
Yes im considering kodak 50inch CA series as it has IPS panel which is my real need for viewing angle. Panasonic ones are costing almost 20k more. Hesitant to shellout that much when this TV wont be used much as my bedroom TV.
Decision Decision
How is this one ?
LG 80cm (32 inch) HD Ready LED Smart TV 2020 Edition (32LM565BPTA)
Link: https://www.flipkart.com/lg-80cm-32-inch-hd-rea...
Only drawback I see for LG smart TV is it runs webos instead of android so quite limited number of apps one gets to use.
Could anyone spot any 43" 4K LED deals in sub 20k price by any chance? Any such crazy deals?

brings this to 20k
@raghupro please tag me also which 43" tv you are going with. I am also looking for the same.
I might mostly opt for realme 43". Good discount and service support is decent.
If mi horizon hits anything close then I shall prefer that
How about the Toshiba 55’ tv guys ?? Is it worth the price for its features.. it claims brightness upto 700 nits
Nokia 43" 4K ultra HD with JBL sound is also best it is available for ₹32K
You mean Onkyo sound?
Just checked review online and looks quite good.
Vu panels r gud compared to mi,brightness is gud in vu
And realme tv?
All posters to this thread, have you all finalized, if so your recommendations please. I would love to hear from you all. @raghupro @mrKool_JJ
At last I bought realme tv 32 inch at 9300.
Only 1 reason – bahut sasta hai
Hisense TV: https://www.amazon.in/Hisense-inches-Certified-... Present sale price – 28490/-
From one of the review under this listing …
5.0 out of 5 stars Great pricing by hisense
Reviewed in India on 6 August 2020
Size name: 43 inches
4k, Dolby atmos with a great picture quality under 23,500. Moreover a Trustable brand in 130 countries. This made me buy without a hesitation. Great pricing by hisense. Just awesome. I thought of purchasing a vu premium tv on primeday sale. But the pricing, Dolby atmos changed my plans. Vu tv parts are completely made by hisense. If you are planning to buy VU ultra 4k or Vu premium 4k just go for this without thinking. All these 3 TVs are almost 100% similar and more over hisense got the upper hand with Dolby atmos. Price is 10k less than Vu ultra and premium 4k TVs.
What to say about this?
As I mentioned beifr I’m trying to buy a MI Tv 50inch for with 3 yrs full warranty fir additional 1999 from Flipkart ,Is the same protection available in amazon wud like to use Hdfc card to make the total purachase 30k same like in Flipkart and get additional discount.
A other idea is to Import a 50K Samsung TV from Gulf by my cousin, it’s costs 26000Rs + additional 6000Rs maybe for duty.
But worried about warranty anyway to get 3 tera warranty for that Tv
Dad was saying he wouldn’t allow any service persons into their bedroom until the covid19 issues end and by the time I was convincing him Flipkart stopped accepting orders for Hyderabad region as their logistics got affected due to recent rains.
Flipkart not accepting any orders for my pincode as of now
Wanted to get the realme 43" TV
Dont worry. Now sales will keep coming till new year.
Interface will be almost same in all of them. Standard Android TV – like Mibox
