today morning some one contacted via PM and he asked :- Bro, Jiophone recharge works to receive calls/msg? I don’t want to make calls, just want to make it active. Just want to receive calls/sms.

first i have to tell something. after that i will answer the question.

i purchased Jio sim at jio store and used it on my smartphone. after some months i purchased Jiophone separately. so my Jio sim is not related to Jiophone. but now, i am using my Jio sim on my Jiophone. i was recharged it with Jiophone plan 98/-

today i removed Jio sim from my Jiophone inserted back to my smartphone and tested calls & msgs.
when i make outgoing calls, i heard “you don’t have sufficient balance to make calls” but i have above 500/- main balance. outgoing SMS also failed.
internet connectivity failed too.

i sent SMS from BSNL sim and successfully received in Jio sim.
i made outgoing call from Airtel and successfully received to Jio sim.

finally, we can use Jio sim that recharged with Jiophone plan but we cannot make calls and SMS.
we can receive calls and SMS.

smile stuck_out_tongue Funniest point:- when i heard “you don’t have sufficient balance” i scared about my Jio main balance. rolleyes is it deducted after inserting to smartphone? NO… no balance deduction happened. wink Thanks to Jio. sunglasses

Open your Jio app. There is a 98 plan for 28 days with 2GB data.
Then why waste recharging with jiophone plan on smartphone only to get incoming calls?

in my situation, i recharged with 99/- and not 98/- ( sorry for the typing mistake in my main post) as i know we can recharge 49/- for smartphone usage (only for incoming calls and sms) no need 98/- or 99/-
