List of HDFC RuPay credit cards and max rewards points earn from UPI spend:

1) Will I earn any reward points for UPI spends using HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card ?

Yes, UPI spends using Credit Card will earn reward points (Excluding categories as per Credit Card product features/Terms & Conditions).

2) Is there any capping on the reward points that can be earned on UPI spends through RuPay Credit Cards?

Maximum of 500 reward points can be earned in a calendar month on UPI spends through RuPay Credit Card.

Please Note - Already got 2000, 5000, 6000 or some people got 10,000 Neu coins on UPI spend. So, i dnt know HDFC will reverse the Neu coins or not. Because recently updated 500 rewards restriction by HDFC bank. Maybe this is only applicable for rewards points and not cashback or neu coins as these are not points. More clarity needed from HDFC Bank.

3) Where can i see my HDFC Bank RuPay Credit card transactions happened through UPI platform?

HDFC Bank Credit card transactions through UPI platform can be viewed in HDFC Bank RuPay Credit card statements every month

4) Can I make my linked Credit Card as default account to receive funds?

Funds cannot be received on linked credit card on UPI.

5) What are the restricted merchant categories on which customer won’t be able to make payment using HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card on UPI?

Categories – P2P, P2PM, digital account opening, lending platform, cash withdrawal at merchant, cash withdrawal at ATM, ERUPI, IPO, Foreign Inward Remittances, Mutual Funds and any other categories as restricted by HDFC Bank from time to time.

6) Can I link my Visa/Mastercard/Diners Credit Card on UPI?

Currently, only RuPay Credit Card can be linked on UPI.

7) What if I change my mobile number, how can I link my HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card on UPI app?

If you have changed your mobile number, kindly update the same for your HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card as well. Once updated, kindly re-register the credit card on UPI app.

8) How can I make payment to a retail offline merchant using HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card on UPI?

Once you have added your HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card to the UPI app, open UPI app on your mobile, click on ‘Scan’. QR scanner will open on UPI app, scan the QR, enter the amount, select HDFC Bank RuPay credit card from the drop-down menu, confirm the payment by entering UPI Pin. Payment confirmation will be displayed, once the payment is done.

9) How can I make payment to an e-commerce merchant using HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card on UPI?

Payment can be made for e-commerce merchant either through an Intent request or collect request from the merchant. Select UPI app as payment mode at merchant website /app, login into UPI app, select HDFC Bank Credit Card from the drop-down menu, confirm the payment using UPI Pin. Payment confirmation will be displayed, once the payment is done, you will be routed back to the merchant page.

10) What are the prerequisites for linking HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card on UPI Payment app?

HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card PIN needs to be setup before linking Credit Card on UPI apps. HDFC Bank Credit Card PIN can be setup by calling 1860 266 0333

11) Is there any limit on the amount of transaction that can be carried out from linked Credit card on UPI?

Amount limit per card per day can be upto UPI limit (i.e, 1 lakh per day and 2 lakh for some special MCC codes i.e 5960, 6300 & 6529 (Excludes the restricted categories merchant in previous Question), however, it will be subject to the available credit limit on your credit card.
To note - Amount limit per day per card is Rs.5,000 for first 24 hrs of linking the card in UPI app.

12) Can I make payment to any person or other Credit Card using the linked Credit Card on UPI?

No, only payment to merchant (P2M) will be allowed from the linked Credit Card.

Currently, you can link your HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card in select UPI apps only. (BHIM app, New payzapp app, Freecharge, Tata Neu app, Jupiter app, Paytm app, Mobikwik app etc)

How to link HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card on BHIM app?

• Download BHIM app from play store / App Store
• Register your account with BHIM App for UPI Payments (if not already done)
• Open BHIM App -> Enter Passcode -> Click on Bank account ->Add Account
• Select Credit Card -> Select Credit Card Issuer Bank (HDFC Bank) -> Select your HDFC Bank Credit Card ->Confirm
• Click to view accounts -> Select from available options

- Enter HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card details

- Last 6 Digits & Expiry date

- Enter OTP

- Enter Credit Card PIN

- Set UPI PIN
