As for Mr. Wangchuk, he is a typical environmentalist looking to protect the land he loves. I won't see any political affiliations here, but it might happen in near future. He is probably setting himself up for a political innings, and establishing himself as the voice and face of Ladakh is first step to the endeavour.

The availability of the lithium reserves in J&K was first reported by Geological Survey of India way back in 1999. This is nothing new.

As more than 90 comments have been passed ...2 cent thought from my side .. Our country runs by emotions .. instead of Lithium reserves  even if "Unobtanium" (Hypothetical atom from Avatar) reserves are found .. it will not bring prosperity to the common man.

So many self proclaimed Geologists and Economists have propped up here. Its in G3 stage and already some people are wishing doomsday for India or hoping it fails😄 Ruko thoda, sabar karo

China invested on both lithium reserves tieing up with bolivia and has been making solar panels for past 2 decades even when other developed countries initially pushed funds and researched and gave up thinking its useless. But chinese kept funding the project even though it was making losses. Now solar panels are on high demand. China is leading mfg of solar panels. They are seeing the benefits. Likewise the efforts by Nitin Gadhkari to replace ICE vehicles with  green hydrogen, bio gas , ethanol and ev is commendible. We will be praising him once india gets to succeed after a decade or so. As of now majority doesnt know his value

In the future we will lead a life without much help from government.

Recycling toilet water and using same for plants and gardening . 

Electricity for home through solar

Rain water harvesting . recycle and use the water

Give up Ration cards . Although i am not getting anything from it for past 4 years. Having it just for sake of proving i belong to a particular state. 

So you don't need LPG or electricity or Sewage connections Ration carss or water connections from govt.  Just build ur home that place you want and start living there.

Cooking gas(replaced via Induction coil)  and Electricity for home through solar ??? - Assuming you are living in India .. Installation of solar panel is still damn costly .. now you need battery for storage of electric charge as Sun is available in day time whereas you need electricity mostly at night. .. Toilet water recycle is still costly for 100 flat apartment as it needs periodic maintenance around 40 to 50k per month (Cheapest value consideration and still not including water testing,STP FILTER SERVICE and sump cleaning) .. Rain water harvesting is good but it only works in limited quantity meaning you can't keep on creating underwater tanks as your building area is fixed)  ... Most importantly .. Solar can't replace cooking as Induction needs 1.5 Amps current which is still not in affordable and producible using existing solar panels .. Fan, light TV is Ok but solar can't run AC, Microwave in affordable way.

This changes nothing. All things will still be same for us common people. Benefit of this will not reach us. Majority of this, if mined, will be exported at cheap rates.

You can say it's a major source of corruption. J&K tourism will also go down.

My brother was not flying that chai walla in private jets for nothing, my brother watered the plant from start and now its time to reap the fruits. A pm in need is pm indeed.
