Feel sad for the decision but I believe it was indeed the correct decision as only dhoni can time his decisions perfectly. It is time for young guns to take over. Body can only support that much. Will miss this guy, one of the best ODI players of our country.

As clarified by the title, he had retired “unofficially” already.
Good to take responsibly and step down yourself, as compared to some other oldies who just keep playing for money despite broken form.
Respect.

Bro I would still stay he retired late.
Still though, one of the best white ball player game has ever seen💯

Well this is the fate of any player – one or another day he/she have to retire.. but the main point is didn’t team india prepared any wicket keepers to take his position ? No

Fans think as if world revolves around them. But it’s not true. World is permanent, rest of us are temporary

Do you really think the world gives a damn about it? Lock down happened, people reacted as if we hit an apocalypse. What happened? Jatha purbam tatha param.
We perceive change, as we observe a stationary train from our moving train. 1sec of World’s change is our entire lifespan. Theory of relativity is really amazing

Good Decision!
Considering their uncertain future & corona crisis.. its better to forget about cricket and spend time with family
For Raina..its more like a formality, they are not going to pick him even for a single match for a better send-off (similar to Kaif, Yuvi retirements) like the privileged
// Last ODI – July 2018
Last Test – Jan 2015
Last T20 – JULY 2018
//

Still a good player indian selection team didn’t give a much chance
There was a time in indian team that they were struggling for no – 4 batsmen they didn’t utilise even one time with Raina it’s a bad from bcci

Like the way yuvraj retired same with Raina happened

Sad my all time fav neutral_face

there was time when dhoni was wicket keeper/captain/batsman in all formats smile
Now captains are, Virat/Rohit in T20/ODI, Virat/Rahane in Test.
and wicket keepers are KL Rahul/Pant/Samson in T20/ODI, Saha in Test.

He should not be given so much respect. He is a selfish cricketer. This is clear from his reaction of not saying a word on SSR’s murder recently.
Although a great human being and a cricketer but also a coward he is.

Why should he say anything about SSR?

I know it is not best time to retire since he should retire after WC exit
But why do he need to say about SAR

Well, that’s a good question. But only a person who respects his friend can understand this thing. Unlike in your case.

If I am cashing on my biopic (in living times) acted by someone and that person dies and I dont say a word, it only means I never had any attachment to the biopic OR whatever was narrated in the biopic is not true. One level up, I am considered as a human without and feelings. So in that case why do I declare my retirement ? Damn it!

Does that make any sense? Just because anyone who is not able to play anymore retires, he will not become a great human being.
I respect him as a cricketer. He was one of the best for sure. But you should admit the fact that there was always a selfish character attached with him as a human being out of the field. And it is being reflected from time to time.

As soon as this was posted, I knew controversial hone wala hai :p
Guys let’s just enjoy the legend he is.
Gave us some amazing moments.
A true cricket fan may not be a Dhoni fan, but I don’t think so anyone can deny his achievements.

But they weren’t friends wink
They promoted the film as a professional job, there’s a PR department to just show the bond to promote the film, doesn’t necessarily mean they were friends in real life.
Rest, I don’t know him personally so cant say, everyone of us is selfish deep down.
