Need help with my LED TV...Serious Issue :(

Hi Folks,

I had purchased https://www.flipkart.com/motorola-zx-pro-109-cm... for about ~23K i suppose on 3/10/21 in their BBD sale with the help of @ Mayavi. This Tv is fantastic for the price i paid for this one.

Last month itself i finished clearing all my emi dues for this one sad

My nephew recently just hit his hand on the display and the right part of this Tv has a crack on the display (which is internal) and a spot where the intensity was maximum and lines too on the Tv all because this hit.

I had called the Moto helpline (managed by Jeevas) itself. The technician came to check this product and informed me that this is a physical damange and won't be covered under warranty (which was obvious). On asking a quote for this he told me that it will cost me about ~30K to fix this display panel. I was like ***** i'll get you a new piece from FK cheaper than this one for a better price. He said he can't do anything as his TL has conveyed this to him and he's helpless which is also fine. He was adamant and he did not share his TL's no with me so i told him to share the pricelist with me for this product.

He shared their Jeevas office address near to my residence and told me that i'll put your case on estimation pending and someone from Jeevas would call you and provide me with a pricelist.

Now i am totally in distress due to this unforunate incident (i wasn't there at home, my parents were there but this happened in a fraction of second so i don't want to play any blame game)

What can i do in this case?
1. Fight with Jeevas and contact PG portal too if required since a repair of a part is going beyond my buying price which is unacceptable. Or is there anything you can can suggest me to do in this case?

I am already tensed and frustrated in my personal/professional life due to several reasons and top of that i got a mini heart attack yesterday.

Requesting you Dimers to please help me in this regard. You're help will be greatly appreciated.

Sell it to some TV repair shop and go for new one in Prime day sale

Panel change may cost u no less than 15K(~70% of TV price) so better go for new TV

It hurts but what can we do, sometimes problems come uninvited in big Q; accept the loss, be strong, save more earn more

One Quick Update - My health was not gone for a toss but yes because of this i was little bit upset and i also did vent out my anger one of my female colleague in office on one of the topic while we were chatting but that was a temporary phase and was out of this in the next few days but since the moto guys quoted us 29k and local guy told me 15k i had decided to purchase a new set itself instead of getting this repaired and since it was an accident i did not think about that much.

So this week went to Kohinoor to purchase a new LED TV and had decided to go for Sony itself. Went there and told them i need the 43' 4k tv itself the rep showed us one model and told my parents let's lock it right away. Waited for about 1-1.5 hours to make sure i get the best deal (had to negotiate to the core) and finally bought Sony X75k 43' 4k led tv for 45k under exchange with 5% cb on my cc so effective price for me was around 43.1k under 3months no cost emi and the experience is <3

PS - I did read each and every comment posted here and did reply to a few of them and missed some as well but all your suggestions was there on my mind.

Thank you all for your comments and your concern smile

Bro 1st put that Tv out of your mind you had a small heart attack which I believe is due to that chronic stress only. I really don't know what are the things which you are facing in your life but really nothing is worth against your health. So first and foremost work on your health it's really not a good sign and will only bring bigger future issues if not dealt properly today.

I don't intent to lecture you but my dad's 2 arteries got blocked 3 years ago & he have 2 stunts now to which I know what he goes through daily : lifetime medicines, so many precautions & all even then we know how prone he is to future attacks so really can't see anyone else in the same shoe.

So see a doctor which I am sure you already have & eliminate every future possibility of it. Your health is your biggest asset and nothing can beat it as once you will loose it nothing can bring it back and same things you might be loosing it for won't even matter then.

Now coming to the TV here's my thought which is quite similar to others, first get the quotes from brand & locally too but in both the cases it won't be cheap as these TV's are kind of Razor Blade Model. Local repairs won't be reliable even if you save some bucks there.

So I would say get it sold and buy a new one as sale is coming which is a good thing & you might crack a good deal. If budget doesn't allow get a smaller one as modern generations are really not into TV's and for family/parents even 32" is more than enough.

Don't stress yourself anymore I am telling you it's really not worth it as things happen no matter what and losing your health over things which you really can't change is really not a good idea.

Anyone can deduce it as physical damage so no warranty cover even if you escalate it to higher authorities. Still try your luck, it's just a mail/call.

It seems like your nephew landed a punch with his tiny hands on it either deliberately or by mistake. What was he watching at that time? WWE or any Boxing match?? 🥊🥊

Not kool JJ, this is not kool. From the tidbits of what I know/read about, you are one kind of a kool person, please don't lose that. Health is more important than anything. Please take care of that.

TV is just a monetary loss, you will eventually forget about that dent in your pocket after some time, but the amount of stress you give or take is enormous here. Now it is nephew, and in future it may be son or daughter, but the common thing is things breaking at home, sometimes even in other's home where you are a guest. Accept and move on. You may think it is easy to say, but that's the truth. The best we can do is expect the unexpected and safeguard to the possible extent, again not at the cost of increased stress.

Regarding what can done to the TV,I think you have got almost right inputs from fellow dimers here, please consolidate and apply them in an order you prefer.

You/your folks can live without a TV for a few months, but not with the unkool JJ. So please put the health on priority. Good luck

Forget about the tv and sell it off. It's clearly physical damage. Replacing panel is costly and not worth it. Stop stressing about it.

Your health has gone to shyt. This is not cool. Ik how hard it is to not worry. Saying not to worry and to take care of yourself is easy. I'm going through something similar with spine injury now. Trust me. Nothing else matters other than your own health. You can buy a tv again, but not your life.

Its too much physical damage bro, contact some local guy for more economical solution. Always install TV at some height instead of on cabinets. These days we own too delicate things unlike sturdy things earlier.

I don't think it's worth the money and time. Also, replacement panels are also not immortal. I had my samsung panel changed for 55k in 2016. It was for a TV from USA. I did that because 43k was being covered in my shipping insurer. Then also, there were insects inside the panel, had to fight with Samsung management to replace panel again, and couple of years later it has light spots all over the TV. Long story short, go for new TV since you will end saving few 1000s only even if you replace panel and worry about the future. Sell this locally, and go for new one. Seeing good deals for around 25k for 50 inch TV these days

First of all, health is more important than anything in this world.

You can approach directly to the service center and confirm the cost for replacing the display panel, if the display panel is costing you more than 15k (it is obvious as they include labour and other charges) then it's recommend to buy a new TV on sale since display panel will have some warranty that is also not sure how long it will work. You can also check with nearby local tv repair shops if they can arrange the replacing of parts or it easily repaired at minimal cost.

1. Do not get TV/Laptop/AC/Refrigerators from fake brands (Nokia, Motorola, Acer - brand licensing)

2. Jeeves aka F1 Service is the official servicing partner for all these fake brands so their pricing is final

3. Like others suggested try third party repair/replacement

You can get TVs at a deal but not spare parts.

Sell it off for parts in OLX or some repair shop. Out of sight out of mind. Anyways time is a healer. You will cool off in a couple of days, but getting it out of sight will hasten the process. A broken thing in front of eyes is more painful than it being not there.

I was similarly apprehensive about buying an Acer laptop but so far it's working fine. Almost 4 years. I did purchase extended warranty to be on the safe side. Only issue is the lower than expected battery longevity. Held good for the first 2 years but in the next 6-7 months decreased by a third. Another year and a bit later barely a third of the original capacity. I used to almost always use the laptop plugged in and since limiting maximum battery charging percentage was only made available from 2020 onwards always being at 100% could have contributed to the battery degradation although temps. were never an issue. Still reducing to 1/3rd capacity after less than 70 cycles is not acceptable. Aftersales service was provided by a third-party center and it was good. For more specialised service Acer even dispatched a technician from another city. Got the motherboard replaced under warranty which turned out to be unnecessary as ultimately the fault was found in the battery itself which isn't covered by the extended warranty. Acer products can cost several thousands cheaper than comparable ones from the likes of Dell, HP etc. so it's tempting. But BIOS options are pretty bare unlike say Dell or Asus so not much tinkering is possible. Replacement battery was still available 3 years after release but haven't bought it yet as the price (Rs 6.2k) is a bit on the higher side especially in light of the performance of the original battery.

It is good (Travelmate - business , Aspire > Swift - General use, Nitro > Triton,Helios - Gaming) but for better long term availability of spares, pick any popular variant (+ no widespread manufacturing issues)

Regarding service, it varies from place to place but they're good in cities (No personal experience with their gaming lineup*)

It's very unfortunate incident, sorry to hear that. Bro, moto ke service centres tied up hai isiliy sab spare costly hai. Pan india jeeves he handle karta hai sabhi products ki service jo online bikti hai (az,fk,etc) Now you are left with 3 options: 1st check with local tv repair shop if he can get it repair using copy/local spares. 2nd get jeeves person and ask him if he can repair it unofficially, they know things and can get the spares without billl(no warrenty will be there, as company will not be liable for anything) 3rd get it done officially and pay the premium price. Other option - sell it to some scrap shop (u wont get more than 100), and get a new one ,sale is coming soon. Your peace of mind is more worthy than this piece of tv. Take care bud

It may help a little.

Pay rent payment on cred, here you will get Acko home appliances physical damage insurance.

After 15 days raise your claim with acko, saying TV damaged just now.

In this way you can save upto 10k on repair.
