I guess tracking the phone using IMEI number is helpful in case of small time pick-pocketers… Organized and professional thieves know a lots of methods to avoid that. Moreover Amazon must be having that expertise to trace and block that phone on the basis of IMEI (if possible).

I have seen 10 year old dimers rigging up the phone and changing its imei
And small time thieves sell these phones at throwaway prices to others who are well capable to handle these issues

so . . . . . .

ill give the procedure so that even a 6 year old can change imei

1) Install adb and fastboot drivers on pc
2) In developer options allow the bootloader unlock and usb debugging
3) connect device to computer
4) Open command prompt on the directory and following commands – adb reboot-bootloader
5) fastboot flashing unlock(for latest nexus) i think 5x supports the old command fastboot oem unlock also → click power button on device
6) fastboot reboot
7) once rebooted enter again enter bootloader following step 4
8) fastboot flash recovery *twrp/cwm.img
9) keep the latest supersu version in ur sdcard
10) in the bootloader using volume up down go to recovery then flash super su zip ( backup optional)
11) then reboot wipe cache dalwik if required
12) install xposed ( forgot method 10 year kids do it on your own/below 10 year old kids pm me )
13) download imei changer activate module
14) enjoy

Isn’t it more like imie spoofing rather than changing it completely from the core ?
I think this method is useful for manipulating apps to pick a random imei from phone rather than erasing it all together.
Doubt it would work to bypass imei trackers that police/amazon might use to locate the device.

yes changing imei is not legal as per my knowledge . Nothing can be done to trace u down .Xposed doesnt actually hardcode the imei it just spoofs it in laymans term intercepting the flow of communication directly at the zygote level The first level of communication . The developer rovo89 is a wizard and wow hats off to that man that customizations are unparelled in android .Xposed has it downsides but its the most important discovrery in android after SuperUser and CWM recovery both by Koush from CM team , Chainfire (Jorrit Jongma) for SuperSu and Fransisco Franco for those amazing android kernels hes been developing since 2007 ( yes even when android was released publicly ) . And to all honesty the dev rovo89 is not behind money at all . He dint even get a single penny from donations till lollipop was out .

i sleep atleast 7 hours a day maybe these days at home i sleep even little more .

Android I have been associated with around 2011-12 so its a long time and gathered some info on it through the years

i have gone through the pics and stuff and the seller on amazon itself is quite reputed one . Maybe there has been someone after the weighing process has done some kind of fraud .Cause the weight prescribed is what ideally a phone with box should be . And the lady in question i really dont know if shes the one who is behind this . For the most part of it she seemed genuine though i have my own reservations on a particular part of the chat. And if she isnt genuine amazon will easily identfy it and only god save her then from the legal hassels and maybe behind bars too So let peace prevail .

Guys, if you feel I’m being too hard on her, I’m really sorry about that. All of you who have been following my posts on DD should know by now that I never do things with the intention of hurting people.
Most of us suggested her that she took the refund instead of putting up a fight. But she didn’t take it. She might have her own reasons for that. But, in my opinion, she is going really hard on Amazon who are the real losers in this case. They have refunded 22K with no questions asked. Tell me which other site would do it today. Instead of appreciating this, she is crying out loud. She doesn’t even have an unpacking video. Now, with all due benefit of doubt against the suppliers, what’s the guarantee that she is not playing foul? Still, she keeps saying the mobile was available at a cheap price. If I were in such a schedule as she projects here, I would not be wasting my time like this. After all, she has not been cheated in any way. In fact, she has already got a just treatment from Amazon.

Hello everyone. After reading all these comments I feel that I’ve done a big mistake by posting the topic here.
I can’t change what people think about me. Who don’t even know me personally.
Please don’t comment anything here. You have got no rights to blame anyone. Until you have discussed the matter with me and tried to get more information.
Tell me which girl should like it if an official comes home asking stupid questions when a girl is alone at home.
I’ve received a call from Amazon at 4 and did discuss the things that are not less than harassment for me.
Lastly, I respect few comments here but most of them sounds like I’m behaving childish or things of that sort. I’m concerned to save that 3% shipping because it is a huge amount for me. May it not be the case with everyone.
And I’m really a fool @Magus that I’m wasting me time on DD with people like you around.
Thank you again everyone. I’ve no interest left in posting my experiences here. Where my experiences have no value. I don’t have to comment anyone anything.
Just wish I had an option to block someone on DD.

At the end when this Issue gets resolved. I will come back here and post. Will like to see more comments at that point.
