No charges for IT payment credit card?

I was helping a friend pay IT advance. Used hdfc gateway, charges were supposed to be 0.8% + gst. I realised after payment, only the tax payment was charged to the card, no charges were added to it like last time. We checked the otp sms, the charge sms and the card app all just reporting only the payment. Now I am wondering whether I input wrong sum and the final amount was just with the charges(that is accurately what he was supposed to pay! That doesn't sound right)

Has anyone experienced this?

They will add charges when transaction will be settled, so check after 2-3 days, you will see different amount than what is charged on payment and in otp.

@Demon_slayer It will be added later . I have paid the same in past .. left this time cc option as reward < charges. so paid directly via net banking

I always experience this when buying train tickets via HDFC SmartBuy. The OTP amount is always 1% lesser (payment gateway charges) then what is posted to my account after a couple of days. They do make it clear on the payment pages that 1% Payment Gateway charges will be applicable.

So is this a hdfc thing? because sending an otp sms without charges then charging it directly to the card is a bit shifty.

Paid through HDFC gateway as well... Otp was for tax amount only but charges did appear after 2-3 days (Visa card)

I used RuPay credit card through hdfc gateway, Card otp page no extra charges showing and after payment settled. no extra charges deducted yet.
