Plz Help: How can you find out how many sims are there in your name?

Many people are aware of the quota of simcards that can be issued for a person which was set by our regulatory body a couple of years back. I was aware of it, so didn’t try to buy any more simcards after the rule was set.
But recently I came across a vile procedure done by the mobile shops in collaboration with the network providers’ agents. This was quite shocking to me.
I found that the shopkeeper has got good number of passport size photographs of different people. He also has kept the photocopies of their EPICs (voter cards). Now the agent is collecting the photo along with the EPIC photocopy (without the consent of the said person). Within few hours the shopkeeper is calling 59059 & verifying all the details. They are also using mobiles which can change voice (in order to have a female tone).
In this manner, a new simcard is being issued in the name of a person who isn’t even aware of its existence.
Now my questions are -
1) Is it possible to know how many simcards are issued against someone’s name?
2) What’s the procedure of deactivating a simcard which is issued in his/her name without any consent or knowledge?
3) Is there any legal procedure that can be taken against the wrongdoers?

can you tell what is done in that(background verification) ?
Here in order to check your academic records, the concerned authorities from the university (as shown in the educational documents) is approached and they verify your records. Upon finding any discrepancies, the company is reported back with negative report.
Hope you can imagine the consequences by yourself.
In addition to these, companies like TCS ask the candidates to give the name of 2-3 neighbors. They are also interrogated over telephone to know about the candidate.
BTW, they have stopped taking interviews in 3rd year after our batch passed out. Now these corporate interviews happen in 4th year only.
That’s why i always buy a sim from company outlets.

Well there are many checks Dimepincher. I was explaining about verification of academic records. Apart from that they do address verification, Previous employment verification, drug test, criminal verification etc. Banks even check the credit history of the employee joining to them. Its all done in order understand the person in a better way who is joining them.
And almost every company asks for referrals today.

yeah… I know. This neighbour verification is a new addition which wasn’t there in our times.
In addition to that, companies also ask for your passport these days. In those days, only 1 company (not even Microsoft) asked for passport.
So, have anyone come up with a solution yet in these 5 months ?
Its been a longtime but I think there is no solution still?
If one goes to their store and demands to know how many numbers are in his/her name, will they give? Maybe then we can ask to cancel the numbers we are unaware of.
Any solution after 5 years ?
