I mainly read fiction so here are a few of my suggestions:
A gentleman in Moscow Amore Towles.
Short stories collection by Guy De Maupassant.
Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin. A soldier of the great war also by the same author Mark Helprin.
A soldier of the great war is my favourite. Mark Helprin writes beautifully, you should definitely check out his work.
