I am not sure since when, but the New Payzapp latest version (1.0.0.230424-56.10 released on 26 April) as available on the Play Store does not work on rooted Android mobile phones. You get an error 15 toast message.
Sharing as a warning/information for fellow rooted Android phone users, pls don't update.
Do note I am rooted user and use Magisk, Lsposed, Xprivacy, HMA etc to make bank apps like iMobile, Axis, SC work. But yet to find a way to solve this version of Payzapp.
My OS is close to stock, rooted Android 13
Package Name: com.hdfcbank.payzapp (the new Payzapp app)
- Groups
- Wallet
- PayZapp Wallet
- Finance
- Credit Card
What model mobile do u have?...and why do u need root....Phones these days has powerful processors and comes with many customisations too even with stock os...i too used to root phones but now stopped rooting as i dont see much use in that....also one should be super careful while using banking apps in a rooted phone
But for me, all phones are always rooted, latest by Day 7
I couldn't get it to work in my rooted devices either. I next checked in my primary device which is unrooted for now and the app just kept displaying an error about some technical issue. I don't use the app so no worries.
Use shamiko
Doesn't work
Working on mine rooted device, use hide debugging lsposed module
Are you using the latest version? In my case no change even if I disabled Developer Options altogether although I was also using an LSPosed module to hide it's status as well.
Link to the module please.
Edit: At least in my unrooted device the app started working after disabling Developer Options.
Thanks @whyred for sharing your setup
A suggestion : next, whenever you change ROM or Magisk setup, worth exploring Magisk Delta (it has MagiskHide brought back, so no Shamiko needed). More updated Magisk apk.
By the way, for me, rooted on Android 13, even with DevOptsHide and selecting Payzapp within LSposed, no success in making Payzapp work. 😞
Same here
Doesn't work. Payzapp is detecting something else
Doesn't work for me as well, can anyone share the previous version apk if not updated yet.
working flawlessly here.
Android 13 with latest magisk 26.1
Added payzapp to denylist
Modules: Shamiko v0.7 (161), Universal SafetyNet Fix (v2.4.0)
I don't use Lsposed
Magisk with Modules - Shamiko, SafetyNet Fix, Lsposed
Hide My Applist
Disable developer option.
Install stock recovery and delete twrp folder from internal memory.
This should hide root from all apps.
com.hdfcbank.payzapp_zygote. Make sure this new process, added after the new update, is also hidden in the magisk denylist for payzapp.
Man, your last line makes all the difference, how did I not check this basic thing. @mGforCe this is most probably your issue as well
kg+
Are you guys also using Rooted mobiles .May be some are on Android 9 or some on 10 , and some guys get error even in non-rooted.
Sometimes issue is with device brand also like Realme vs OP / redmi (only those who use rooted tricks for app know it 😜)
May be everyone is stuck at some error ,
We can help each other .
check dm @RockyBond @pagal_admi @sence @22sumit @LIMBO @whyred @pranavcool @Neo53 @mGforCe
.
I don't think it's the detection of Developer Options alone to blame as in an unrooted device the app only pops up an advisory about disabling DO to reduce risk and allows to go to the login screen.
P.S. Finally some excitement after pretty much smooth sailing for over a year.
Ok - I was able to Payzapp work. Finally! Not sure what specifically worked as did too many tweaks.
What all I did (summary)
Removed Data & Cache and then Uninstalled Payzapp
Rebooted
Installed Payzapp (but didn't open it)
Added it to MagiskHide (double checked and selected all 3 activities)
Added to XPosed for XPrivacy, IAMNotADeveloper
Under XPrivacyLua disabled access to analytics, activities, installed apps
Under HMA, disabled access to all root apps (I have a big list)
Rebooted and then tested
How to configure hide my applist to hide xposed and its modules?
Follow this guide from section "Install HMA" onwards
Does Play services and Play Store components need to be hidden under magisk deny list? Some say required others say it breaks them.
In my experience it's only necessary for Google Pay and/or relying on the Denylist to hide root instead of Shamiko/MagiskHide.
PZ worked after switching to Magisk Delta and making use of MagiskHide(Su List rather). Zygisk is not enabled. I had to enter the device PIN manually as for some reason if using the fingerprint the app kept getting stuck at the PZ logo after SIM verification. DO options are enabled and not hidden. LSPosed isn't installed. Play Services aren't touched and Google Pay works. MD handles some stuff automatically. USNF isn't flashed. In fact no Magisk module for now is installed.
And uninstall the app.
After new update it clearly says bootloader unlocked. So bootloader is the problem and not root
Shitty app
Works in rooted device but not if you enable developer option or unlock bootloader
Have to turn off to use - and even then sometime it works sometimes same error
aj kl ke time mei jo root krta h vo pagal hi h... because nowadays phone have enough customisation....and very less bloatware
fuddu log customization k liye root karte..jinhe root ka matlab b nhi pata
@LIMBO @RockyBond any solution ?
I had already mentioned it earlier. Use Kernel SU if available for your device. Otherwise Magisk Delta with Zygisk disabled and Unmount modules (recent replacement of MagiskHide ) option enabled for Payzapp. SafetyNet must pass of course which requires hiding root from Play Store and Play Services. Recently I have come across a Bootloader spoof thingy but I haven't looked into it.
For me lately Kotak Bank app has started giving issues...need to play with different modules
+1. Strangely enough I am longer seeing the Unmount modules option in MD anymore. Instead it's MagiskHide. Perhaps the TWRP restore I did a few days back has to do something with this. MD is v26.1. Downloaded latest MD such installed fine but the update kept getting failed.
I am not enabling Zygisk unless it's absolutely necessary.
For me payzapp has become incompatible in play store since months. Using miui 13.
You can install it via Aurora Store which is open source front-end of the Play Store. Apps are downloaded from the latter itself.
I guess you emailed [email protected]? You can instead email [email protected] or even call at 18001029426.
Maybe wiping data of Play Services is worth a try.
Okay doing that. Btw how are u able to open paytm for businesses apk. As soon as it is opened it detects root. Hide it with hma, shamiko and everything
Payzapp devs are plain dumb. Complains about root in my F4 which doesn't even have it's bootloader unlocked. The account under Work Profile worked fine though. I guess it's detecting the presence of apps like Termux etc. in the Mainland.
In my rooted Redmi Note 3 the account under Work Profile didn't complain about root but it keeps getting stuck logging out soon after logging in.
Edit: Resolved in case of Redmi Note 3 after hiding the Magisk Manager app.
Resolved in Poco F4 after uninstalling Shizuku (thankfully it seems Termux wasn't targeted). I had only installed it in order to backup the Payzapp apk in Swift Backup so that I could share it here. As they say no good deed goes unpunished!
Finally bootloader spoof helped me bypass payzapp issue. Now working fine
After Kotak, now AU Bank app has also got force close, if selected in Magisk Modules.
Luckily, started working after removal of the app from all Zygisk modules.
Latest update of Payzapp, v 2.0.0 has got additional root detection.
Pls take backup before updating.
For advanced users-
Magisk Delta with inbuild Zygisk + HMA is working for me
Magisk Delta with Zygisk Next + HMA is not working for me (this was working with Payzapp 1.0.0.231107-159-03)
Other common things: PlayIntergrity Fix - Latest
mine's not rooted and still shows that error - RIP
