I am not sure since when, but the New Payzapp latest version (1.0.0.230424-56.10 released on 26 April) as available on the Play Store does not work on rooted Android mobile phones. You get an error 15 toast message.
Sharing as a warning/information for fellow rooted Android phone users, pls don't update.
Do note I am rooted user and use Magisk, Lsposed, Xprivacy, HMA etc to make bank apps like iMobile, Axis, SC work. But yet to find a way to solve this version of Payzapp.
My OS is close to stock, rooted Android 13
Package Name: com.hdfcbank.payzapp (the new Payzapp app)

Android 13 with latest magisk 26.1
Added payzapp to denylist
Modules: Shamiko v0.7 (161), Universal SafetyNet Fix (v2.4.0)
I don't use Lsposed

Thanks for sharing your setup. Still this doesn't work for me.
PS: I have no recovery nor folder (fox/twrp)
Only difference is you have Magisk Official + Shamiko and I have Magisk Delta+ MagiskHide.
What is your OS version? A13?
Try using airfrozen for hiding renamed magisk and then launch payzapp
hackerboys wrote:Are you guys also using Rooted mobiles .May be some are on Android 9 or some on 10 , and some guys get error even in non-rooted.
Sometimes issue is with device brand also like Realme vs OP / redmi (only those who use rooted tricks for app know it 😜)May be everyone is stuck at some error ,
We can help each other .

I am using official Magisk 26.1 + Shamiko and DevOptsHide module in A11.
You can check if the Developer Options is still being detected or not in this app under Device Fingerprint >Stability Level - Optimal/Unique https://github.com/fingerprintjs/fingerprintjs-...
In my case the app can still detect that DO is enabled.

Magisk Official 25.2.
Try putting android system webview, play store, play services in denylist/MagiskHide and in hide my applist, make hma and magisk invisible to all the above as well.
Uninstall payzapp and Clear storage of play store, play services.
Restart. Re-install payzapp and put it in denylist/MagiskHide and in hide my applist
See if that changes any.
I don't think it's the detection of Developer Options alone to blame as in an unrooted device the app only pops up an advisory about disabling DO to reduce risk and allows to go to the login screen.
P.S. Finally some excitement after pretty much smooth sailing for over a year.
Ok - I was able to Payzapp work. Finally! Not sure what specifically worked as did too many tweaks.
What all I did (summary)
Removed Data & Cache and then Uninstalled Payzapp
Rebooted
Installed Payzapp (but didn't open it)
Added it to MagiskHide (double checked and selected all 3 activities)
Added to XPosed for XPrivacy, IAMNotADeveloper
Under XPrivacyLua disabled access to analytics, activities, installed apps
Under HMA, disabled access to all root apps (I have a big list)
Rebooted and then tested

I was able to make it work, shared above.
For me, only GMS is under MagiskHide. Nothing else.

How to configure hide my applist to hide xposed and its modules?

Follow this guide from section "Install HMA" onwards
Does Play services and Play Store components need to be hidden under magisk deny list? Some say required others say it breaks them.

In my experience it's only necessary for Google Pay and/or relying on the Denylist to hide root instead of Shamiko/MagiskHide.

PZ worked after switching to Magisk Delta and making use of MagiskHide(Su List rather). Zygisk is not enabled. I had to enter the device PIN manually as for some reason if using the fingerprint the app kept getting stuck at the PZ logo after SIM verification. DO options are enabled and not hidden. LSPosed isn't installed. Play Services aren't touched and Google Pay works. MD handles some stuff automatically. USNF isn't flashed. In fact no Magisk module for now is installed.
akki.akki wrote:You can drop an email to payzapp and ask them to delete your data.. not sure if anyone actually does.
how can i delete the payzapp. i dont find it useful and dont want to upgrade.
And uninstall the app.
After new update it clearly says bootloader unlocked. So bootloader is the problem and not root

Shitty app
Works in rooted device but not if you enable developer option or unlock bootloader
Have to turn off to use - and even then sometime it works sometimes same error
aj kl ke time mei jo root krta h vo pagal hi h... because nowadays phone have enough customisation....and very less bloatware

fuddu log customization k liye root karte..jinhe root ka matlab b nhi pata
Novizio wrote:@LIMBO @RockyBond any solution ?
I had already mentioned it earlier. Use Kernel SU if available for your device. Otherwise Magisk Delta with Zygisk disabled and Unmount modules (recent replacement of MagiskHide ) option enabled for Payzapp. SafetyNet must pass of course which requires hiding root from Play Store and Play Services. Recently I have come across a Bootloader spoof thingy but I haven't looked into it.
