REVISION OF BENEFITS ON CASHBACK SBI CARD
With effect from 01 May 2023, following changes will be applicable on your
CASHBACK SBI Card:
A. Below categories will not be eligible for Cashback benefit, apart from existing exclusions:
The Merchant Category Codes are defined by the Networks and are subjected to change basis
their discretion and such changes shall be implemented basis communication from the
Networks without any requirement forintimation/information to the customers.
B. Maximum Cashback that can be earned on online & offline spends in a statement cycle will
be capped at `5000.
C. Complimentary Domestic Airport Lounge benefit will be discontinued.

I can still use it for (unless some other better >5% cc offer) :
- online medicine purchases.
- Ajio
- Forex txns
- Lenskart
- OTT payments
- Amazon/ FK/ Myntra/ Zomato/ Swiggy/ Uber/ Ola etc etc etc..
Also your major gripe seems to be the removal of "utilities", it was already giving just 1%, I wonder why in the first place were you using this card on utilities for just 1%.

Need to use this card heavily in april as from may the devaluation starts.
I want to do yearly jio recharge, is it better with sbi cashback :/ or any other option?

It is confirmed that Gyftr uses MCC 5947. So no more 5% cashback on gift cards purchased from Gyftr.

SBI ILA shows Gyftr under stationary category. And many of Paytm purchases are also under stationary category, so there is chance that Paytm also using same MCC.
Although some of Paytm and Amazon purchases are under apparel as well and they might still give. But then it will become luck based.
Intermiles and olacabs (magicpin) are under travel category and seem safe options.
Cashback card devalued before completion of 1 year..
When they reduced the benefits then sbi should bring down annual fee😜

Where can we find mcc code after payment? In charge slip
It is for the transactions are done after May 1st or the statement generated from May 1st

TIP: All who got SBI CB CC as FYF, keep it till the 11th. month and take decision to close card then... other cards you currently have may get devalued soon too (as per current industry trend), so this might help in case of specific offers or MCCs...
That's true. I could use it wherever there is no offer at all.
But can't make it all the way to waiver limit. If only gift cards were available it could have helped me push the limits.
SBI is not an honest card.
Morevoer, they charge for everything with almost nil benefit.
This card is useless now, even basic benefits like lounge access are revoked.
