My friend is on a work visit to USA and i have asked him to get me a mobile. I have zeroed in on 3 options,

>iPhone – iPhone SE or iPhone 6s
OR
>Nexus phones – Nexus 5x or Nexus 6p (Recently they have got a price cut)
OR
>Dual Sim phones – Any good VFM dual sim phone cheaper than in India

Please tell me as to which is the best out of these as i have to consider unlocked version & lte bands supported by Indian Telecom carriers.
iPhone SE is $400 for 16gb & $500 for 64gb variant.

Recently Nexus devices got a price cut with Nexus 5x @ 270$, Nexus 6p 32gb @ 400$ and Nexus 6p 64gb @ 450$.

Also i would appreciate any suggestions for dual sim phones apart from Oneplus 3.
Can i order the phone via Amazon.com & give his hotel address? Nexus 5x Unlocked International Version is available for 270$ in Amazon.com in below link,

CC: @DealSeeker @getready @raghupro @rv2012 Please provide your opinions & suggestions.

Also i would like to know about international warranty on these phones. Will it be accepted in India?

@gambitrite Just two general points with regards to your post right above this one:

(1) Make sure whatever phone you import has 4G/3G bands compatible with the ones being used by Indian mobile service providers.

(2) 5 TB for only $109 is a steal!

Yes… we need to check for 4g Lte bands – Band 3(1800mhz) and Band 40(2300mhz) which currently are used by Indian telecoms. This phone supports 1800mhz only.

If 4G is your priority dont go for a device which only supports 1800mhz band
and verizon devices usually dont have any developer support and you are stuck with stock rom and without root
For some devices, it is possible to unlock few lte bands with some modifications
Just XDA before making any decision
and yeah 5TB is a very good deal

Oh.. won’t these phones support Volte? I wanted to be atleast be future proof as 4g market is going to be competitive if Jio is launched commercially with very competitive plans.

@gambitrite
AFAIK, 2300mhz band is mandatory for better 4G coverage
You might not get 4G coverage at all / network with low speeds with a device having only 1800mhz band

I had M1 note with only 1800mhz LTE band and 4G coverage was very inconsistent during travel
Although in Bangalore Airtel 4G coverage was good

Verizon does support Volte i dunno if it works with Indian 4G carriers like Jio
I had one LG imported device with Volte support and it didnt work with Jio for HD calling

Oh no…. Most of the phones released in US don’t support 2300mhz. I have to dig more and find if any good deals are available on phones that support 2300mhz and then take a decision. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_sad.gif

eBay is better for deals, amazon usually doesn’t offer great discounts unless its a prime day or black friday
Amazon is good for accessories
