Ebay is the first site I ever used for buying/selling purposes going back something like ~ 8yrs. The one thing that’s remained consistent is it’s user interface & remarkable CC support for nearly a decade now.

Ebay however is kinda lax on it’s “seller warranty” thingy which btw I’ve only ever seen exclusively on Indian portals. Conversely they’re also harsh on the seller in case of a dispute cause that’s the way they operate & as such anyone looking to make eBay their second (store) front should know fully well what they’re getting into.

As a buyer you ought to be relaxed as eBay is probably the best online marketplace, for a buyer that is, however you should also be wary of possible fake items & “hit & run” sellers. Generally speaking so long as you’re able to separate the wheat from the chaff i.e. able to select genuine items from reputed sellers you’re good to go.

It’s also the best place to sell used items, unlike OLX or Quikr that promise so much yet deliver very little. Again as I’ve mentioned in my second point, just make sure to neatly package the item(s) especially used/old ones & if possible post some proof of ingenuity of the product also its working condition so that the seller doesn’t have any valid excuse to claim a refund.

Lastly the tracking system from eBay atm is horrendous & their updates are totally dependent on sellers &/or courier partners which btw are making a mockery of the expected delivery timeline these days, especially seen during Diwali. It’s better to contact the seller or courier service yourself to get a better info on the location of your item.

Overall I’d say it’s the best portal in India for buying old &/or new items, however just for the brand new things IMO Amazon & Flipkart are better considering their policies on warranty & such stuff.
