On September 4, the Majerhat Bridge collapsed in South Kolkata, 3 people died & 24 injured. Train services and vehicular traffic was disrupted.

On September 7, the middle portion of the bridge near Siliguri collapsed on a canal below when a truck was crossing it.

There has now been a third incident today, the third time in this month alone. The bridge was still under construction and the exact reason behind is yet being investigated.

This has bought a hard crackdown on the current government and there have been 7 bridges marked on high alert since they need repairs since they are seen as the most vulnerable bridges in the area.

Hopefully fourth time is the charm and the government of the day will take up action asap!

The govt is the culprit here whether is direct/indirect and so they can not charge themselves.
After 4th or 5th collapse(God forbid) in India nobody bothers about such collapses as it becomes a routine news like rapes and bomb blasts(few yrs back) unless they happen in BJP ruled states.
Reason is no good people show interest in politics.. I am forced to vote either BJP/Cong/xyz in turns as there is no option and almost everyone is same.

few days before 2 students were killed in clash with police in west bengal that too for demanding bengali teacher but govt provided them urdu teacher
we saw no prime time debate by honest journalists and no outrage by human right gang, placard gang, urban naxal gang.

but when umar khalid get little cough then they cry students are in fear.
when gurmehar is just trolled over her placards then they call for protests.

umar khalid / kanahaiya / shehla rashid are still students but not others.

may be they have different definition of murder and other crimes.
if your followers get fake threat then show it on prime time as threat to democracy but if other person even got killed then behave like bapu ke teen bandar.
