Yesterday my account has been debited by 5000rs using upi payment interface. app name lvb upaay this app is designed for hackers plz dont use this app this app is not sending any otp while registration and may be in this app there may be bug money will be transfered if u enter wrong upi pin as i have not shered my upi pin with the hacked …
Now i want to know if i chnage my mobile number from my bank account can i sucure my account using this way or i need to close my accout as the hacker has access on my bank mobile number

Should i close my bank accout or changing mobile number is enough as close an accout is not an option i have multiple accouts on this mobile number
1st of all, register a complaint with your bank asap by calling customer care or register your complaint online.
Done it already also blocked my all upi services from different bank accouts linked with this number

I got your point bro.. in the pAst I had a similar experience like this .. I complained on Twitter & mistake I did is I Twitted my mob no & I received a call from fraudster citing to be a paytm customer care agent.
He asked me to fwd a msg from my mob no to number he told me to get the refund. I agreed to then he send me the UPI SMS code which I found out & started abusing him like hell and he disconnected the call & switched off the no.
Lesson learnt :
1.Never share personal details like mob no official email or address publicly.
2.First verify the no from which the fraudster is calling from like personal no or a office registered no.
3. Never send or share any sms otp pin.

Don’t wait just lodge complaint here and have Txn id etc handy
If you think your phone is compromised, I would suggest remove sim and insert in another phone access respective UPI and change pin. Backup and Hard reset phone then put back sim card.

Yes, Customer should have mobile number with his/her bank system for using *99#
I would always suggest my friends to keep two bank accounts, one for primary to keeping your savings with just Net banking, strictly no Cards and another for your transactions, withdrawals and so, while keeping minimum balance, as per yoru requirements.
Last month I read a news on fraudulent transaction of credit card. The card holder filled a complaint at cyber crime police and and reported his respective bank with fir copy, sooner his bank reversed his stolen money. So whatever you do, do it ASAP

No, there is only reporting of fraud & that is why credit cards are so much better than debit cards. No need to worry about linked bank acc & keeping balance in there. There is a upi chargeback mechanism introduced recently as reported by @abhishek012 but it is far less smoother than credit card chargeback & fraud reporting mechanism.

Always lock/block online transaction /international transaction (options is available in all bank applications).
advice to all :
1. u shud not enable upi in your salary/main account.
2. have a separate account for upi and day to day transactions. whenever this operative accounts balance reaches low just transfer some money from ur main/salary account.
3. allways keep the extra money in fd with premature closure facility.
True,… main bank accounts with heavy amounts should be having separate mobile number… and it’s card should not used anywhere unless emergencies.

Will stop all internet banking/UPI with my main account of HDFC. Have just applied for a seperate IDFC savings account for all online transactions etc.
U can use net banking with out any problem but use different account for upi payments that is what i suggest u

what’s the process you followed to get the refund?
First step uninstall all unknown (looks phisy those offering 50 rupee for install) app including anydesk, teamviewewer from ur mobile.
Second step change ur upi pin , txn pin immediately.
And 3rd step do whatever u want to do as a precaution / action step.
