Guys I already have 3 cards

  • SBI Simply Click
  • CITI Rewards
  • HDFC Diners Premium

Please tell me what are the other best available cards at present

My shopping trend: More than 90% online https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif
Free or Renewal Fee less than 1000 will be better for me as I have to divide the total spend among all cards
Let me know if lifetime free offer/Fee weaver is there, then renewal fees will not be there.

I have sorted down some.

  • SBI Prime
  • IndusInd Iconia
  • HSBC VISA Platinum
  • Standard Chartered Manhattan Platinum
  • Axis My Zone/Privilege
  • AMEX Gold/Rewards
  • Kotak Royale Signature Credit Card
  • YES First Preferred Credit Card

thanks in advance

@nofpd Simply click is the best online shopping friend for rewards. you are already owning this card. i think next best will be Amex rewards if you are ok with Renewal Fee.

Since you mostly seem concerned about the renewal fees, let me simply point out that out of the ones you have mentioned, the following cards are totally fee-free (apply card-on-card basis if you have already completed at least one year with your first credit card):

  1. HSBC VISA Platinum
  2. Kotak Royale Signature Credit Card
  3. YES First Preferred Credit Card

IndusInd also doesn’t have annual fees, but they do charge a one-time/joining fee. Many fee options are there depending on the welcome benefits and even those options vary based on the card level (Iconia, Signature Legend, etc.). AFAIK, they will NOT waive off the joining fee (exceptions might be there, especially for their premium savings/current account holders).

How to apply for CARD on Card basis. Is through agents only?

Posting a pblm tat I faced , which I posted in another thread.
“Plz anyone point out the cards doesn’t need the Card Holder to be in eligible cities.”

Eg: I wanted to apply for HSBC Credit card. In site my city is not listed so I couldn’tapply. I given cityas some other got call from HSBC but said I am not eligible as I am notin listed cities.
Then I went to HSBC bank in another city they said I have to be staying in tat city.

I have ICICI SCB SBI credit cards… Any Cards which can be got on Card to Card basis in which living / working City doesn’t matter.

Every time you take a new Credit Card, there is a temporary negative impact on your CIBIL score. So be moderate in your actions.

I have their Jet Sapphiro (Amex+Visa) cards currently. But some people also like their category specific program for the lower-fee Rubyx Amex as well.

I hold the following cards:
Diners black, hsbc, citi rewards and platinum, Indian oil, sbi simply click, indusind, Amex, standard chartered, yes first preferred, axis bank

My personal choice for credit card would be,
Diners is a must have card(got around 2.5 lac points till now) – all my flights are usually free because of this
SBI simply click – amazing card with fees of course(rotate wallet money)
Amex – good for periodic spends offer
Yes first – rotate wallet money using this card and lounge access
Indian oil – for fuel purchases

Rbl rejected my card application else even rbl is also a good card to have

I have a query that I consider as important and actually not that difficult to ascertain: We may have multiple cards and use them based on opportunity or billing date. However, which 1-2 cards are your PRIMARY/ DOMINANT cards in terms of maximum spend of the pie in the past few 1-2 years…and WHY? https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_confused.gif

I am sure this ‘actual usage or behaviour’ based data could give us a good clue on which cards are best..in addition to regular ranking or feature description based approach to credit card evaluation… That can also help or guide some of us to consolidate or realign our portfolio of card collection of our multiple cards or reorganize our spends to attain highest bang for the buck, say over next 1 year period overall… https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_rolleyes.gif

Requesting inputs or opinions based on your experience…Expert or Otherwise..:) https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_cool.gif

Look at the list of my top 3 cards with the knowledge that “emotional comfort” as well as available credit limit (so as to optimize the credit utilization ratio) have also played some role into this spend pattern. All three cards had annual spends in double digits (lacs).

  1. IndusInd Iconia Amex
  2. Citibank Premier Miles
  3. HDFC Diners Club Black

@rpal
Everyone have different goal ,different needs ,different approach ,different attitude when coming to discuss credit cards.
I use cards for
Due date management
Availing Offers
Cost effectiveness (merchant specific)
Convenience
.
So my usage pattern is based on various factors
I use cards with convenient approach to avail best offers keeping their due dates in mind & taking care of merchant ~ rewards ratio.
So just one card isn’t my favorite
So NOTE my favorites https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif
Need based
Offer based

Ease based

Hmm… There are two ways of analyzing or giving opinions (and both are useful in their own way): Anecdotal (depends more on subjectivity of one or few experiences) and Data based (goes more by objective data/figures and resulting statistics based analysis).

You have apparently weighed more on first approach, which is fair enough and useful… However, advantage of analyzing actual figures or data (e.g. Top 2 cards by last 1 yr actual spending % of pie) is that it happens to be more objective, and less susceptible to interpretations or even inherent embedded biases… 🤔

Just some thoughts…Appreciate your inputs-and fast!! https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

Alone credit score does not hold cards, there are various factors & even lower scores also may not pose much problem.

Perfectionist Perfectionist

There is no single best credit card, bro! One needs to get and use different credit cards for different purposes in order to get the best value.

@A2Zdeals tried to say the same in a post above. It all depends on your rewards/cashback and feature requirements.

@sifar @A2Zdeals Went to Bank, for IndusInd Iconia
They are offering Iconia for one time fee, no annual fee
10k (Pataloons, UCB, Bata etc)

They are also offering Signature Legend, for 25K Jet voucher, one time fee no annual fee

Too much investment for Signature Legend, will go for Iconia only

Next I will go to Yes bank https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif
