We are into the 3rd day of Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale 2020 which has given confidence to many e-commerce sellers during these tough times. So far, this sale has seen a lot of things which lets us compare with its last year’s 2019 sale and get some informative insights.

According to Amazon sources, 1.1L+ sellers received orders within the first 2 days of the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale 2020 which is the highest in the past 5 years. It further added that 66% of orders and 91% sign-ups came from smaller towns. The biggest revelation here is that Amazon surpassed the entire sales of iPhone 11 in 2019 on the opening day of this 2020 sale. This may be because of the iPhone's lowest ever price of Rs 47,999 from Rs 68,300 in the ongoing sale plus the giveaway of free earpods and power adapter. Besides, Kindle E-Readers are sold 2.5 times in this sale than in the entire 2019.

Talking about categories, electronics and large appliances are among the top performers. Surprisingly, drones and security cameras are the top searched products. Brands including Apple, Samsung, LG, and Sony are leading in terms of sales.

The best selling smartphones in this sale include iPhone 11, OnePlus 8T 5G, Samsung M51, and Redmi Note 9 Pro. Smart TV’s have seen brands such as OnePlus, Mi, and LG perform well so far.

One of the reasons for this sale’s great success can be the 1.1K new products launched which includes the OnePlus 8T 5G smartphone, Xbox Series S, Amazfit Bip U smartwatch, Samsung M31 Prime Edition mobile, and others. Moreover, this year Bank offers(upto Rs 4,750 discount) and Amazon Pay cashback(upto Rs 7,250) offers are more rewarding. This success amid the ongoing global pandemic will certainly give a boost to e-commerce companies.

It is said that Amazon acquired around 80% more Prime Members from 90% pin codes than the entire year before the start of sale due to the 24 hrs early access and Prime exclusive benefits. This may be also due to the Great Indian Festival made available in Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.

Currently, we are at the start of this Amazon sale with the Diwali festive season to follow. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how the deals & offers curated across many product categories in the coming days.
