Amazon India has announced that it is producing a live-action series based on the popular PlayStation game "God of War". The show will be available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.
The series will follow Kratos, the God of War, who leaves his violent past in ancient Greece and moves to the Norse realm of Midgard. Kratos is mourning the death of his wife and sets out on a dangerous journey with his son, Atreus, to fulfill her last wish of having her ashes spread from the highest peak. However, Kratos must fight all kinds of new gods and monsters as he and his son's bond is tested.
The new "God of War" series is expected to be a hit for Amazon. The announcement comes after the release of the "God of War: Ragnarok" sequel last month, which sold an impressive 5.1 million copies in the first week.
"The 'God of War' is a compelling, character-driven franchise that we believe will captivate our global customers as much with its expansive and immersive worlds as its rich storytelling," said Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studio.
The release date is not out yet as the web series is in the 1st phase of making. If rumors are to be believed then the God of War is likely to be released in March 2023 in 240+ regions globally including India.
Amazon's live-action series is one of many video game adaptations, such as HBO's upcoming "The Last of Us", Paramount+'s "Halo", and various Netflix series including "Arcane", "Resident Evil" and "Witcher".
they would make a woman hero and ruin a classic like they did with lords of the ring, they didn't did it right in past, what makes you think they will do it right this time ?
Exactly, most of the series and movies tend to move away from game storyline and thus ruin it, like resident evil, assassins creed etc.
It's a great game specially the first one and Ragnarok. Hope they will not ruined this series.
