Google launches Play Pass subscription in India

Google on Monday announced the launch of a ‘Play Pass’ subscription service in India that will provide Android device users access to over 1,000 applications and games without ads, in-app purchases, and upfront payments. It hopes to create a new method for consumers to enjoy digital experiences with this launch.

Play Pass is a subscription service that allows users to access a variety of applications and games without having to deal with commercials, in-app purchases, or upfront payments. It is presently accessible in 90 countries.

What do you get with Google Play Pass?

According to the company's official statement, Google Play Pass will provide a high-quality and selected library of over 1000 games from developers from 59 nations, including several from India, across 41 categories.

“We want to deliver products and programs that the Play community- both users and developers – find value in, and we are always looking for new ways to do this. With the launch of Play Pass in India, we are excited to offer a robust collection of unlocked titles to our users and looking forward to partnering with more local developers to build amazing experiences users love,” said Aditya Swamy, director, play partnerships, Google India.

How can you get a Google Play Pass?

Users can sign up for a one-month trial of Google Play Pass before purchasing membership plans for Rs 99 per month or Rs 889 for a year. They can also use the Google family group to share their Play Pass subscription with up to five other family members. All the information regarding the Google play pass is available on Google support.

Steps to get the Google Play Pass -
  • Open the Play Store app on your Android device.

  • Tap the profile icon at the top right.

  • Look for “Play Pass.” Tap the option and follow the onscreen instructions.

Users can begin their Play Pass trial by opening the Play Store app on their Android smartphone, pressing the profile symbol in the upper right corner, and searching for 'Play Pass.' Subscribers can access the Play Pass page to access the library of applications and games.

interesting to see if we can use different family members like the sharing in youtube premium or will the same family members we have added for youtube premium be used.
