After the OnePlus 8 series launch in India, complaints about green lines started flooding in, so the company rolled out a free screen replacement program for affected models.

Update: Good news — as of August 2024, OnePlus has extended further the list of eligible devices for free screen replacement, adding the OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 11 (other eligible devices are OnePlus 8 Pro/ OnePlus 8T/OnePlus 9 /OnePlus 9R)

If you’ve got one of these models with the green line issue, you can get a free screen replacement and cleaning service at any OnePlus service centre. Previously, OnePlus was offering discount vouchers, but that offer has since ended.

If you have an eligible OnePlus device, you can get free screen replacement for green lines issues at any OnePlus service centre near you. Below are step-by-step instructions to get the free screen replacement:

1. First, confirm if your device is eligible by entering your mobile’s IMEI number in this OnePlus official Free Diagnostics form

2. Next, proceed to enter other details such as service centre location preference, preferred time slot, full name and mobile number

3. If your nearest service centre doesn’t have your preferred time slot, select another nearest service centre and check again

4. Once done, hit the submit button

5. You will receive a confirmation message with your appointment details

6. Visit the select service centre at the scheduled time & date with your OnePlus device purchase bill

7. OnePlus professionals will inspect your device for any dismantled parts, third-party repair, and screen oxidation — things that are against their program policy terms & conditions. If your device passes through these tests, you will get free screen replacement & free cleaning & maintenance service.

8. Be sure to backup your mobile device before you send it for repair

OnePlus free screen replacement terms and conditions are as follows:

• OnePlus free screen replacement is applicable only for eligible devices that are OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9R, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 11

However, your eligible OnePlus device cannot avail of free screen replacement if any one of the following is true:

• If your device is assembled with different parts.

• If your device has been dismantled by private or unofficial repair centres before.

• If your device has screen oxidation

• If your device has severe damages caused by human factors. (The final result is subject to the Engineer's inspection.)

Also, keep in mind that each OnePlus phone can only get a free green line screen replacement once. If your screen was already replaced under this policy, you won’t be able to use it again for the same device.
