The Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio recently announced new plans of Jio Fiber (it's all-in-one broadband service) to make it more affordable for every Indian. Along with the new plans they have introduced a 30-day free trial where a user can judge whether the Jio Fiber services are suitable for him/her or not. The company will provide a wifi router, set top box, and voice controlled remote with the Jio Fiber package. In addition, there are many intelligent & useful software applications which a Jio Fiber user can benefit from. Jio Fiber offers the same speed for uploads and downloads so people looking for symmetric speeds can cheer up. Furthermore, cherry on the cake is free unlimited HD voice calling on all the Jio Fiber plans. Also, there are many Jio Fiber offers available to save more on its plans.
Reliance Jio has rolled out 2 plans which will give you free access to Jio Fiber for a month, but you need to pay a refundable fee to avail these trial plans. Akash Ambani (member of Jio Executive Committee) said that these trial plans are introduced to make Jio Fiber reach every household in India because internet connectivity has now become a daily essential and thus requires dedicated services.
After your 30-day free trial, you can either continue using Jio Fiber with its monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly plans or request the Jio customer care team for an exit. If you continue, Rs 1000 will be deducted from refund amount as Installation Charges else you will get full refund (thanks to Dimer equalizer for sharing this detail). Jio Fiber is an all-in-1 broadband service from Reliance Jio. It offers high speed Internet, unlimited voice calling, set top box, voice controlled remote, and free subscription to the best OTT streaming platforms. All of this is available with Jio Fiber’s monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual plans.
Many people are in a dilemma whether the Jio Fiber will replace the cable tv & landline services or not. The Jio set top box has a cable antenna slot on its rear side. When you select ‘Live TV’ on the Jio interface, it says, “not connected to a cable operator” which means that currently Jio Fiber is not integrating cable tv services. Talking about landline, with Jio Fiber’s unlimited HD voice calling services you won’t require any other dedicated telecommunication gadget.
Jio Fiber is providing upto 1 Gbps of mammoth speed and its unlimited data plans start from just Rs 399/month so can we say that it can turn the tide on the top broadband players? Well, it is currently in its initial stages so it will be tough to say anything, but looking at Jio’s previous offerings, competitors certainly need to rise up especially Airtel Xstream.

If we continue with the connection after 30 day trial, refundable amount will be reduced by 1000 INR as it will be considered as installation charges.. so 500 (modem only) / 1500 (modem + stb) is refundable..

However, considering 10% cashback using Citibank credit card (250 cb if 2500 paid) installation charges are effectively reduced to 750 INR..
So this offer is 150 Mbps for 30 days with an FUP of 3300 GB.. worth 750 INR
a day will come people will talk about a price all inclusive. tax 18% is huge. which makes plan poor
Bumping on the old thread. Does anyone know the free OTT apps which come with Jio Fiber are available for how long. Someone told me that these will be available only for 1 year beyond which we will have to pay to use. But I could not find this anywhere on internet. Anyone knows about this?
I doubt jio or airtel can provide better than this. I just pay 749/mo (incl. of taxes) for 500 GB Data (upload speeds are important for me).I can’t even use this data completely, so 3.3 TB/mo is waste for me. Plus, recently I was paying around 1000 for 1Gbps/mo 300 GB data but downgraded last month as need a good router to get more than 650 Mbps in that plan.

Thinks 100 time before opting for JioFiber..Worst customer support…see their Twitter handle everyday 1000s of complaint regarding speed, connection, device, whatnot…pathetic…free trial is big trap…no refund is comin even after cancellation…what comes is non sense execuse…or copy paste replies..

Let me say something. People who are getting speed in above discussion are really luck, Jio fiber / Airtel is not available in my area. I am really in need of this speed. I am unable to sustain on 2 Mbps in 2020. BSNL ADSL reconnect randomly, in client calls its really frustrating. Jio sim gives 3.5 mbps max. For GOD sake I need stable internet. This is utilty now.
What is FUP in Airtel…. Media report says no FUP on Aircel…

Useless service… No one picks call.
Seems not worth the hassle. I think it’s better to stick with my current provider for me as I get 1gbps 500GB/mo in just 12000/yr. And 500 GB/mo is akin to unlimited for 99% of people. Thought jio would bring something better and out of the box but it’s pretty expensive. Even if I add netflix, hotstar, prime video subscription costs, I will be saving lot of money by staying with my current provider rather than falling for this unlimited gimmick and bad service of Jiofiber.
Better to stay with current provider….. 1GBPS at 1k per is wow……
Jio is evil. They want to have monopoly in everywhere. I don’t trust them anymore.

how to use Lionsgate play and Shemaroo Me? There’s no app on jio store to install on STB, can’t login on website with jio registered number either.

Jio is now such a aalsi company. In March they completely laid out their fibre cables in our locality but even after 7 months their local mgmt says dont expect internet from us.
I can go outside my balcony and grab reach their junction box, but no internet even after waiting for 7 months.
Local politicians create obstacles for jio.
We got it since 6 months as my house is in 4 town. But jio got stuck in old areas as there are already old network belongs to politicians.

If the number is linked to my jio sim and which is having annual plan if we login on the ott box app with that jio number (same which is used to activate ) will it work.
