This is all privatization model. initially they will offer you discounts and make you dependant on them. Then after 18 to 24 months they will start increasing the fare and bills. Then after 2:3 years they increase quality but will charge you more than what they offer. Then they dominate the market and don’t allow other players to come in.
Best thing is to go back to traditional ways ie placing orders on phone calls directly with resturants, going out etc. Don’t fall into rs 30, rs 100 discount traps. It is their marketing cost to give you discounts and they will stop it soon.
If are not dependant on them, they can not do anything.

Also remember if any resturant offering you high discount, understand that food is stale and reheated. And some low grade resturants offering high discount may give you left over foods. So beware.
Any good resturant will not offer you any discount.

This person has no Food Experience Kindly call ur friends having Restuarant And ask them if they serve Stale food The Restaurants Give the same food which u Get by visiting yourself As The Name of restaurant is associated with the Food If they give stale food The rating of the restaurant will fall very quickly and I have never seen swiggy promoting Low rating Restuarant Whatever the discount maybe Actually what happens is when restaurants Give good quality food at home Through swiggy One remeber the Name of the restaurant And One visits outside He will prefer that restaurant only Because he knows The food served is Fresh and Tasty Understood idiot

No If no But
Swiggy is the worst
Ekdum jhand app h.
Same restaurant’s same dish’s offline price is almost half than the price online😂
So even if you get 60% off you’re in debt.
And yeah please add convenience and delivery surge fee in that too😂😂

This is all good in theory, not in reality.

First of all, packaged food can be reheated. But yes, most restaurants don’t sell packaged food, hence chances of stale & reheated food is rare. However, important thing to note is that although the food prepared might not be stale, but ingredients can be. Many times I’ve ordered paneer from 4+ rated places, but it wasn’t as soft as 1 day old paneer should be. Forget about items like potatoes and onions. You can’t even enter storage sections of many restaurants not because they don’t permit, but because you won’t be able to stand the smell of rotten items lying there.

Second, all this rating thing is a farce. If a restaurant has bad rating, say 3.4 stars, that restaurant will enter a promotion partnership with Swiggy where it’ll give more share to Swiggy and in turn Swiggy will remove many negative reviews and then promote it. This is why you never see a badly rated restaurant being promoted on Swiggy. You can’t even find your review on Swiggy, so you won’t know whether your review (rating) got removed or posted. But I’m sure you’d have seen many restaurants promoted by Swiggy in your area which you have never before heard of! wink wink

Third, what the other person said about getting us habituated in not wrong at all. It absolutely right. All online business & startups are working in similar fashion only. They offer promotions so you start using them. Then they offer more promotions so you keep using them for sometime. This sometime is the time they know from your order frequency. For this thing they’re paying also 40-60 lacs per year salary to data scientists they’ve employed.

And as soon as general behaviour suggests that dependency on the service is good, they introduce new and expensive plans, like the new membership plans Swiggy has. Earlier it was something like 349 or 449 for 3 months, now it is 749 with major benefit as free delivery from any restaurant in whole city, which they know hardly anyone would use more than once or twice because doesn’t matter free delivery, who would want cold food? So they already have this data with them and are exploiting it.

MOST IMPORTANT: I ordered parathas from a 4.6 star restaurant in Pune, near Magarpatta (a famous neighbourhood). I liked it, so ordered once more. Then the following week I was out in that area & decided to visit that restaurant for dinner. Guess what, I couldn’t even find that restaurant. It was supposed to be in a building of 4 floors, out of which 2 were under construction. I went in & out of the 2 working floors two times, but couldn’t find that restaurant. Then I searched those under-construction floors, filled with cemented & watered flooring & found that “4.6 star restaurant” operating from a half-constructed 10×10 feet room. I hope you can guess what scam was that 4.6 star rating.

So your thinking that “people will remember name from swiggy and come to restaurant” is a fantasy. In reality, its the opposite. People order from restaurants they already know are good, unless they’ve no other option and want to take a chance. I hope you understood this.

But it is very true that swiggy increases item prices as compared to the restaurant, I have noticed more than once
