Tata Pay UPI App is here: Watchout Google Pay, Paytm, Amazon Pay!

Tata Payments have now officially received approval for their new UPI Payments app in Tata Pay from the RBI. Tata Pay will be similar to Google Pay and other payment aggregators like Paytm and Amazon Pay.
Identity verification startup DigiO has also received the payment aggregator license alongside. The Tata Pay app will also facilitate e-commerce transactions for its various salt-to-tech brands under Tata Digital.
Razorpay, Cashfree, Paymentz, and Enkash are some of its other peers it will compete against. Tata Payments has been scaling in the merchants hub, but on the consumer front it is still lacking, which is why Tata Pay is here.

The company also had a digital wallet set-up, but didn’t work and was shut down 6 years back. Tata Pay is currently incorporated in the Tata Neu app (Tata E-commerce Brands) for UPI payments, money transfer, autopay, and much more. Now, it will have a dedicated Tata Pay UPI app.
With the Tata Pay app coming in this month, expect UPI offers and cashback rewards as it will onboard users with attractive promotional deals. On the other hand, Google Pay and Paytm might also come up with new offers to hold-on to its user base.
Any benefits for TCS employees?
Will be good to utilize in the beginning due to promo offers. Once they get the desired user base, offers will vanish or decline and the app will become no different than the others.
