YouTube Premium Lite is new plan that offers almost* an ad-free experience to users who wish to upgrade to YT Premium Lite priced at Rs.89 per month. It’s a cheaper version of the YouTube Premium plan which costs ₹149 per month and offers a total* ad-free experience. Premium Lite doesn't include YouTube Music Premium or advanced features like video downloads and background play.

YouTube Premium in India is pretty cheap compared to other countries. The prepaid plans cost ₹159 for 1 month or ₹459 for 3 months, and they don’t auto-renew. There’s a recurring monthly plan at ₹149. Students get an extra discount with YT Premium starting at just ₹89/month, available only to full-time students at approved colleges or universities, valid for up to 4 years. Now, there’s a new addition of YouTube Premium Lite at Rs.89/month.

YouTube has not mentioned exact details about “how many ads” for Premium Lite users. However, on its official page, YouTube added

“With Premium Lite, you won’t get ads on videos like gaming, fashion, beauty, news, and more. Ads however may appear on music content, Shorts, and when you search or browse. Ads may appear on music content, Shorts and when you search or browse. Music content includes any music-focused video, for example official music videos, covers and dance videos.”
