Note - Don’t apply online as people are getting Classic International card instead of platinum. Visit branch and apply there.

Update 07 Sep 2022: Do not apply for canara bank rupay platinum debit card now as waiting period to get the card is at least 4-5 months so no point as one needs 3 months just to recover annual charge of around 300(250+gst) & there is no guarantee amazon offer will extend beyond 31st March 2023.
The Canara animals reached a new low today. After I complained about my 2nd RuPay card never being delivered after requesting from website in June 2022 and the 3rd card being delivered which was Visa despite requesting RuPay from the app, they closed the complaint saying Visa card was already delivered, customer is complaining for no reason.🤦🏻♂️I opened the complaint again. Meanwhile I went to the branch and requested insta kit of RuPay Platinum since from website, even 2nd addon card was not coming. They said ok, made me fill ATM application form, said they have RuPay Platinum but again issued me in person also Visa Classic. They are truly low IQ animals.

No issuance charges but ₹500+GST=₹590 for newly issued Platinum variant cards. 😱😱😱 For existing users, still ₹250+GST.

I just checked, they deducted 590rs + hotlisting charges +pmsby scheme charge which I I never opted. Strange thing is that I didn't get any sms on these deductions and they charged me sms alert charges also 😬. I did not get any communication from canara bank regarding change in service charges.
Can these charges be reversed to get refund?
For pmsby toh I won't leave them. I am aware of a similar scam by union bank. Will report to ombudsman eventually

Can anyone find this out from their Canara Bank branch? If RuPay Amazon offer ends on Add Money, the Platinum variant can be replaced with Classic/Standard variant with "nil" fees.

1. Can we operate canara bank account without debit card? SBI allows to operate bank account without any debit card.
2. Can we permanently block debit card to avoid these charges?
Will canara bank automatically replace the debit card once we permanently block the debit card in their app?

2 Rupay Platinum card option are there for physical cards. Which one to apply.
No such option in Virtual cards.
