I came here to read your views on it but since a thread does not exist yet, I am creating one. Let this be the single place to read info about how to prevent this devil from entering your body. Those of you who are in Noida / Bangalore, what are your views? Assuming the Noida man had this thing since 20th Feb, he would have gone to a lot of crowded places in last 10 days and since incubation period is 15 days, we may not know who all locally caught this in last 10 days !

Man suspected of coronavirus jumps to death

A man suspected to be infected with COVID-19 allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the seventh floor of a Safdarjung Hospital building on Wednesday, soon after he was admitted to the facility in New Delhi by airport authorities, police said.

The man was brought by the airport authorities as a coronavirus suspect and was immediately put in the isolation ward, hospital sources said.

His samples had been taken and sent for testing, they said, adding the reports are awaited.

I don’t want to panic anyone out here but i feel it will be tough for us in India .

1. India is 2 populous
2. No proper checks.
3. Corona can go undetected for days
4. India don’t have equipment to test at all part of country

I am damn 1000% sure the number that we see on TV or media are fake ..

Govt must state how many people were tested .. what were the outcome .. who were cured , critical death..

I have isolated from everyone ..but i have sinking feeling ..

Hope i am wrong and things get settle soon .

Laundry workers refuse to wash clothes of Covid-19 patients

Growing concern over the spread of coronavirus was evident at the local government medical college in Yavatmal, Maharashtra, where laundry service staff refused to wash clothes from the isolation ward which has three Covid-19 patients and another four under observation.

The ward staff on Monday gave the isolation ward clothes like bedsheets, curtains etc for cleaning to the ‘dhobi’, who also washes clothes of other wards.

However, people responsible for cleaning the clothes refused to wash the clothes belonging to isolation ward fearing infection from them. “We fear that we will catch the coronavirus infection if we touch these clothes,” said Ashok Chaudhary, a washerman. PTI

Isnt the washing staff provided adequate gear for protection ?
If thats true then the isolation is an eyewash , an epidemic is on the way
Considering that the term “dhobi” is being used i dont think any special arrangement for handling has been done

Spain coronavirus toll 767, 30% jump in 24 hours

Coronavirus death toll hits 767 in Spain, 30 percent jump in 24 hours. Since last Sunday, the country has only been testing either those with acute respiratory infection who need to be hospitalized or essential workers, meaning the recently confirmed cases are serious, reports say.

Spain is the fourth-worst affected country in the world by the pandemic and has been in lockdown since last Saturday evening.

On Wednesday, a director of the Spanish police force confirmed in a press conference that 73 people have been detained for not obeying the emergency law, which forbids people from leaving their homes for non-essential reasons.

PM won’t announce ‘lockdown’ in today’s address: Prasar Bharati CEO

Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar on Thursday dismissed media speculations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will announce a lockdown in view of coronavirus outbreak during his address to the nation at 8 pm.

Shekhar called the speculations “incorrect”, stating that it will create unnecessary panic in the minds of people.

“Some media outlets are speculating that PM Modi will announce a lockdown in his address. This information is incorrect. It will also create unnecessary panic in minds of people, which is the last thing we need in times like this,” he tweeted.

The Prime Minister is expected to talk about issues relating to COVID-19 on Thursday at 8 pm and the efforts to combat the pandemic.Earlier in the day, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said it would be disappointed if the government did not announce a total lockdown for a period of 2-4 weeks.

“What will the Prime Minister announce at 8 pm today? I will be disappointed if the PM did not announce a total lockdown, at least of all towns and cities, for a period of 2-4 weeks,” Chidambaram tweeted. He asserted that “anything less will be letting down this country.”

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi chaired a high-level meeting to review the ongoing efforts to contain COVID-19 in India. So far, a total of 169 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the country. Three persons have died from the disease. — ANI

So, guys what’s the plan? Until someone invents a vaccine, all we can do is to roll over to a side, and wait. What can be achieved by just arguing and arguing and facts and propaganda. Chill, Relax. Enjoy life till it lasts. We were born to only die, right. If today is the day then so be it. If not today, day after tomorrow or some days latter I will die. So, we should make our choices a bit wiser so that before dying, we won’t be seeking extra minutes to be able to live our life in a different way.
Well. I don’t know what gonna happen. So, I will encourage you people to stay united and stand together.

Tech Guru Tech Guru

Guys you gonna read this. https://www.imperial.ac.uk/media/imperial-colle...
“In the (unlikely) absence of any control measures or spontaneous changes in individual behaviour, we
would expect a peak in mortality (daily deaths) to occur after approximately 3 months
(Figure 1A). In
such scenarios, given an estimated R0 of 2.4, we predict 81% of the GB and US populations would be
infected over the course of the epidemic.
Epidemic timings are approximate given the limitations of
surveillance data in both countries: The epidemic is predicted to be broader in the US than in GB and
to peak slightly later. This is due to the larger geographic scale of the US, resulting in more distinct
localised epidemics across states (Figure 1B) than seen across GB. The higher peak in mortality in GB is due to the smaller size of the country and its older population compared with the US. In total, in an
unmitigated epidemic, we would predict approximately 510,000 deaths in GB and 2.2 million in the
US, not accounting for the potential negative effects of health systems being overwhelmed on
mortality.”
This is legit scary stuff. But panicking, debating won’t help anyone. I understand and respect each one’s ego. And would suggest guys to go further beyond your comfort zone, read articles, share em here. Read articles from reputed sources. It hurts eyes and mind. But at least we need to update ourselves, right? So, let’s be open and let’s keep every option open. smile

Yes thats true, we can just delay the peak, we will likely get it around June July, And the world will start to go back to normal probably by the end of September.

Well I can share videos where the CDC & other experts gave testimony to the US’ Congress & Senate about the spread of the disease & how it’ll progress given the trends since Dec/jan period. The issue is people simply aren’t listening, I posted in the other thread that 70-80% of the people worldwide can get infected. This will not happen over 3 months though, with social distancing & mandatory restrictions it may take as much as 2 years, unless there’s a cure or vaccine in that time. When your friends or relatives are laughing it off you better start packing your bags & book a motel room for yourself in some isolated far off place grinning
