I came here to read your views on it but since a thread does not exist yet, I am creating one. Let this be the single place to read info about how to prevent this devil from entering your body. Those of you who are in Noida / Bangalore, what are your views? Assuming the Noida man had this thing since 20th Feb, he would have gone to a lot of crowded places in last 10 days and since incubation period is 15 days, we may not know who all locally caught this in last 10 days !

India has done only 6500 tests till now. South Korea is doing 20,000 tests daily

Masks, hand santizers declared ‘essential commodities’

  • The government on Friday declared masks, including N95, and hand sanitizers as ‘essential commodities’.
The decision comes in the wake of the coronavirus scare leading to shortages and black marketing of these items.
These items will remain under essential commodities segment till June-end.
The government has notified an order to declare masks (2 ply and 3 ply surgical masks, N95 masks) and hand santizers as essential commodities up to June 30, 2020.
The decision has empowered the Centre as well states to regulate production, quality, distributions of masks and hand sanitiziers,
It will also smoothen sale and availability of these items, and for carry out operations against speculators.

We are testing way too less people just like muricans.
South Koreans did the best job of handling the crisis. Keeping the mortality rate the lowest in the world.
Italians have started taking aggressive measures and expanded testing.
One of the highest mortality rate there hovering around 6% due to older population compared to others.
Things can get ugly.

We have the resource but just either too incompetent or lazy too act fast.

People who are coming from out side countries be it our countrymen or foreigners just quarantine them on an island ( like Andaman ), Put them in Kala Pani … thsi will be the most effective way. Many will mind it’s about the safety of majority and future.

Also who are facing self quarantine they should be reported to police like some gives record of home workers to the authorities …

But who is going to lend me an ear ? No one … so it will go on as is and again only pray and hope is in ur favor.

Delhi has registered its first death from deadly novel coronavirus. The sixty-nine-year-old woman who was tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday has succumbed to her illness at Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Health Ministry and Delhi government officials said.

This is the second case of coronavirus death in India. On Thursday, Karnataka government had said the test results of a 76-year-old man who had died on March 10 had come back positive for novel coronavirus.

The deceased woman was a resident of Janakpuri in West Delhi. She had got the viral infection from her 46-year-old son who had recently traveled to Japan, Geneva and Italy. The son is also being treated for Covid-19 at RML hospital.

The deceased woman also had diabetes and hypertension, the hospital sources have said.

“The woman had a history of contact with a positive case — her son who had a travel history to Switzerland and Italy between February 5-22, 2020. The son had returned back to India on February 23. He initially was asymptomatic, but developed fever and cough after one day and reported to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on March 7. As per protocol, the family was screened and since he and his mother had fever and cough, both were admitted,” an official statement said.

“She was a known case of diabetes and hypertension. Her sample was collected on March 8. Her condition worsened on March 9 with the development of pneumonia and she was shifted to the intensive care unit. Her sample also tested positive for Covid-19. Since March 9, she was having respiratory fluctuations and was provided ventilatory support. However, due to co-morbid conditions, she died on March 13 at RML Hospital, Delhi as confirmed by the treating Physician and Medical Superintendent,” it said.

The only solution is to get treated at the earliest stage and not let the disease progress further to pneumonia stage

Pulmonary Fibrosis is why i have been screaming at the top of my lungs to my near ones about the actual dangers of this disease. Nobody is listening. With India’s population density and governance, We will definitely be hit worse than Italy.

P.S. : The above article says that sneezing is absent in Covid-19 patients. I was assuming Runny Nose and Sneezing might be there. Need to research bit more.

If we check the column “Total Cases per 1 Million Population”, then we can see that India, Pakistan, Mexico, Ukraine have lowest ratio at 0.1
Either we have suddenly become the most advanced nations or we are doing less number of tests.

if by Thursday figure crosses 150, we are screwed. power of compunding doesn’t works only in investments but in pandemics too. And I don’t have any hope from government. They are busy in debating if we should do Aadab or Namaskar. Another cartoon says chanting Om can make coronavirus weak. One says if earth is finished we will reborn in Ram Rajya and another says God has blessed us, Lord in Kailash parvat is in between India and China. Waiting for Monkey Bath which could tell us why he kept unemployment growing so people stay at home and doesn’t get coronavirus.

Covid-19+ techie’s wife, who defied quarantine, flew to Delhi & took train to reach Agra, tests positive

AGRA: A 25-year-old Agra woman whose husband, a Google employee, tested positive for novel coronavirus

in Bengaluru earlier this week, also tested positive on Friday. According to health officials, the woman, who recently returned from her honeymoon in Italy and was put under quarantine after her husband showed symptoms of the disease, escaped from Bengaluru on March 8, took a flight to New Delhi and travelled to Agra to be with her parents.
Coronavirus outbreak live updates

Not only that, the health officials said they faced resistance when they visited the house where she was found staying with eight other family members and could only move them to isolation wards after the district magistrate intervened and a police force was called.
Coronavirus fear goes viral: Why you shouldn’t panic

Agra chief medical officer Dr Mukesh Kumar Vats said, “After the medical team reached the house of the woman’s parents, her father, a railway engineer, refused to cooperate with us and lied that his daughter had left for Bengaluru. But after the district magistrate’s intervention, we were able to gain access to their house and took all the nine family members to the district hospital for screening."

" The woman has now been shifted to the isolation ward in S N Medical College.”

A health official, who interacted with the woman in S N Medical College, said, “The woman got married to the Bengaluru-based Google employee in early February. The couple left for their honeymoon soon afterwards to Italy and later travelled to Greece and France. They landed at Mumbai airport on February 27 and flew back to Bengaluru.”

“However, on March 7, her husband tested positive for Covid-19 and they were both quarantined in Bengaluru. Later, the woman informed her parents about her situation and allegedly at his request, she returned to Agra on March 8,” he said.

She took a Bengaluru-New Delhi flight and later a train to travel to her parental home. Her travel details are being verified.

Health officials swung into action after alerts from Aligarh Medical College, which rated the woman as highly suspected Covid-19-infected patient, as well as Lucknow-based KGMU.

Agra DM Prabhu Narayan Singh said, “The woman returned to Agra on Sunday. We have isolated her family members and deputed a surveillance team to monitor them.”

A senior doctor associated with the isolation program of the Covid-19 in Agra said, “The newly married woman is the first positive corona-infected patient admitted to S N Medical College. Her sample has been sent to Pune-based National Institute of Virology

for further tests. Since, she travelled by air, there is a high chance that passengers sitting near her in two rows back, front and side, might also be infected with Covid-19.”

Meanwhile, taking precautionary measures, Agra railway authorities along with the district administration started sanitising the railway station and coaches.

Chief public relations officer of North Central Railway zone, Ajit Singh, said, “The entire Agra Cantt railway station, trains and railway premises are being sanitized. We also are coordinating with the state authorities to contain the spread of virus and have set up an isolation ward at the railway hospital. We have alerted our employees to follow proper precautionary measures to avoid getting Covid-19.”

We Indians are such stupid people. Earlier also 1 Keralite and 1 Mangalore person escaped quarantine. I can only guess how many others (100s) they would have infected. And each of these will then infect 100 others and so on. Such people should be shot at sight. Bloody Pigs. Only caring about self. This can become worse than italy, we will have maybe 1000 deaths per day. Not even God can save us

For treatment only Remdisivir is the one I know of. But due to hard ass regulatory shit it’s not going for mass deployment even though it’s found to be effective in every cases so far.

meanwhile top govt. officials are busy in pumping and dumping the money markets .. I think somehow they know well they are immune or what ?!! It’s their opportunity to play the markets. If they would have serious then they would be more serious about mass deployment of Remdisivir as a treatment than to pump in USD 1.5Trn to aid the share market.

Remdisivir won’t be used widely if there’s not enough patient to treat and Gilead need to make some dough out of it as they can not bear loss .. only govt. could have forced them and give compensation which would cost less than USD 1.5Trn but who cares about others when you are on a non stop path of success ( read get rich rich and more rich ). You only think how every move can make your wallet even more fat ….
