Edit:- Those who have already made up their mind to buy iphone 7, Will compare this thread to giving up travel , Leisure and even Basic and daily actvities….

Good luck to those, they are just responding to the fact that they cant help it..

This comparison is just to show the difference between INVESTMENT and EXPENSES (that too in iphone)

Wow OP.

Thank you for highlighting such a valuable point. I feel I’m stupid buying an iPhone 7 plus from UK as my friend was coming on Sep 20th.

Cancelled my order. Happy? https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_lol.gif

Now suggest me a phone @oneidentity cause I sold my 6s+ or should I stop buying phones and invest that money in shares?

Do accept the fact that apple phones get good resale values. Hard to make such nice image for a brand.
Btw @raghupro can you tell me some things which an iPhone only can do and no other smartphone can?? Would love to know the exclusive benefits of iPhone.. forget about the efficiency and sync bla-bla..

OP, unfortunately i don’t agree with u.

i believe in earning more n spending more rather than only thinking of savings all the time.

also, with this all huge profit can u do now what u wished for the time u wanted to do but rather didn’t do n invested in shares way back then? no u cant coz that time has gone n u cant get it back. u cant get that feeling exp moment back, right?

also do u think ppl will take cash with them when they die? NO. they take the happiness which they had in their lifetime. they will have peaceful death.

im not saying dont save but im saying more than thinking abt money n saving n making profit u should think abt enjoying life without having a thought of any money restrictions in the way of ur happiness.

“There are some things money can’t buy. For everything else, there’s MasterCard”

a video n saying which purely fits this thread

Be it MacOS or iOS it’s not about exclusivity alone mate, it’s about implementation. When you compare the whole experience of using the device on a longer run things are lot more smoother and work as it should which I see lacking on Android devices, even the premium ones.

If you purely talk about exclusivity then there is nothing much apart from apps that most users don’t bother about unless he/she is someone like me who love to explore more of it as time goes by.

I will just out a few small comparisons and tell you how that differs.

The process optimisation on iOS is lot better which let them run a dual core CPU even till date that actually is optimised to such an extent that their SoC can run console level graphics on a phone. Sadly on Android even a quad core CPU can’t handle equal computation. This matters, I mean, the kind of CPUs you see in Android lately can power full scale computers too and they are not able to handle a mobile OS well? My S7 edge lags at times (seen and article on XDA about how Samsung Note 7 was not performing smooth with proofs unlike what most reviews tout).

Having a powerful processor means more power requirement which means more heat generation. My S7 edge, even after having a gimmicky liquid cooling system, does heat up beyond convenience for just 30 mins or so usage of social networks/whatsapp. iPhones heat up too but it’s more like warm temperature than heating up to such an extent for the same usage. This is again linked up to the kind of battery drain that happens on the device as the battery drains more heat is decipitated. If at all Android were more optimised too you wouldn’t need such huge processors!

iTunes – most first users curse it like crazy but if you own multiple devices and/or change phones frequently you would know how useful this is. All I have to do is to connect my device and click on one single button to add all the data into my phone. This data includes something as apps, contacts, music, videos and what not. How difficult is it really for Google to create some standalone tool like this?

OS updates – I literally even lost hope on Android.

UX inconsistencies – observe well, you will find so many inconsistent UX patterns even with core apps at times. There were times when I noticed default apps having button to go to previous screen on left and few had it on right. I mean, is it really that difficult to standardise this? Even with the phones, a few have the left capacitive touch button to go to previous screen and few have it on right? Why mess with such basic things? These are just minute examples, I see lot more inconsistent implementation in apps!

In device search – having tons of apps these days it’s difficult to fire up an app quickly by searching for it. Yes, the google search button works for in-device search too but compared to spotlight search feature of iOS the search on Android is a joke! Of course, Google being an internet first company they give precedence to web results first but they have to device a method for better/faster in-device search. On iOS from any screen all I have to do is swipe down and spotlight is up there and ready.

I guess I might sound like a paranoid listing out these tiny stuff but on a day to day usage these are what makes it simple and effortless to use my phone. There are lot more that I feel iOS outdoes Android.

At the same time do note that I love Android too, there are many features on Android that annihilates iOS quite literally. One such is Google Now, at least for Indian accent it is like 100x better than Siri and makes it a breeze to use the device. I am actually using google now to send messages and type simple emails too lately. Crazy features – I love how OEMs on Android innovate/experiment to outdo the competition, things like dash charge, edge screen, always on screen and what not! Useful or not, you can only dream of such things to happen with iOS/iPhones.

Another point I respect Android is for making a smartphone affordable Who could have dreamed that someone willing to spend as low as 3k to 4k could get a smartphone that could achieve so much? Kudos to that!

PS: Will keep adding points if and when something strikes my mind.

PPS: Just because I anyways typed a long post again wanted to write about WebOS too. I am not sure how many of you even heard/used it but that was one of the sickest/coolest/kickass OS that could have blown away both iOS and Android to dust if it were in good hands. Imagine, back in 2009 when I got the Palm Pre and experienced it, they had wireless charging, card based layout for background apps/multitasking icons that had a design 4 to 5 years in advance as compared to iOS/Android, super smooth performance and animations. Such a promising OS it was, Palm/HP totally messed it up.

iphone is like a passion for few. that’s why. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif

It’s not! Just because you guys know of a few people in India who don’t use an iPhone apart from stuff like basic apps which any other smartphone can do you can’t blame the iPhone.

I have used every major smartphone released till date since 2007 right from iPhone 2G, HTC G1 (the first ever Android phone), phones with WebOS, Maemo, meego and Windows Mobile. I have used more Android devices than I have used iPhones.

There is a certain reason why I am drawn back to iOS mobiles eventually. It’s because the refined integration of features and seamless integration is still lacking on flagship Android phones.

Yes, I can afford an iPhone but doesn’t mean I am filthy rich either. I plan every iPhone purchase almost for a year by saving some money every month and this saving is a significant amount for me too. In fact for most purchases I make sure I am getting the best deal so that I do not loose out much when I sell it off and trust me, I sell most of my stuff at break even or at a profit too even after using it or at max 10% loss on money I spent on it.

I am crazy about new gadgets, be it tabs or smart devices or phones and hence I spend on them. Every person has his own MADNESS, be it travel or gadgets or savings or food or any bloody thing that keeps him/her motivated and strive for it. Without any such passion A.K.A. madness ones life is a tad bit boring or monotonous. Sorry for too much philosophy and gyaan.

My problem with most noobs is that they comment on stuff without even experiencing them. Experience, use stuff, weigh out the pros and cons and then write *YOUR opinion* and I will respect it. People who do not have sensible and credible stuff just call out names and argue baselessly.
