I am trying to curate the list of places where we can buy GV with 5% cashback after the devaluation for SBI cashback card.
- PayTM - PAYTM NOIDA IN - 5699
- Amazon - All GV irrespective of the merchant name or MCC
- Flipkart - All GV
- magicpin - WWW MAGICPIN IN

Mcc for magicpin is 7399 so eligible
Mcc for Amazon gv is 5399 so eligible
Mcc for woohoo is 6540 so eligible but cb not received even in last month
Mcc for gyftr is 5947 so not eligible
out of the topic query please --- is the merchant name that you see during the transaction page (while entering OTP) and the one in the SBI unbilled transactions always the same or has to be same? as i tried placing order in FK and it showed Flipkart Payments (and no mention of Paytm) but in SBI app - you have it recorded as Paytm Flipkart,
What about flipkart gv purchase on flipkart ? Will fetch 5% ?
Can you buy Amazon GC using CC on Paytm? I don't see that option

which makes this card useless for paying 999 annual fee.
Unless someone do various research and uses it monthly with all precautions. and still as bank/sites can change the MCC code. so there is NO guarantee till when the last research will work.

My planning is to CLOSE this card before 1 years completes OR any changes in the Policy/LTF. Though its personal for everyone.
It's too risky anyway. They will deduct cb/charge you amount on any random day. Better to avoid. Unless it's small value transactions.
Absolutely, SBICards cannot be trusted anymore. They actually deduct failed reward point reversal charges for transactions done months ago, so yes one fine day they can come up and debit your account of any charges complying their general TnC.

You can call SBI CARD and ask them MCC code of your transaction, they will tell you.
Call SBI support after your transaction settlement.

Many people rotated money and resold gift cards by using this card and earned 5% unlimited cashback.
Utility bills, gold, jewellery, fuel, insurance payments, etc. via gift voucher purchase.
Many people used this card for Business expenses.
SBI closed all the misuses and imposed limits and restrictions on them. All restrictions are justified.
Now I think from the SBI CB card launch day anniversary, they should make renewal charges either 649+gst or 699+gst to keep existing users as well as get new ones... exclusions applied hard, fees need to be tweaked too!

I don't know what's the issue with sbi with its customers buying a gift card ...we are paying for that gift card also..it's not free as if sbi is treating it..

Itna restriction aur fees 1000+ abhi ye card rakhna hai ya cancel karna hai wahi decide ho paa raha hai.
SBI Cashback Card is bigger trap than others.
Just there are limits. 20k per month 30k per 3 months or something dont really remember.
