Airtel recharge price hike is here for the Rs.859 plan. Now Airtel customers need to pay Rs.899 for the Rs.859 plan. While the benefits remain the same, the Rs.859 Airtel recharge price hike has left some users concerned of Jio following Airtel’s footsteps. Especially when Jio offers extra benefits like Gemini AI Pro, JioHotstar 3-months mobile subscription and 90-days validity at the same recharge price. As you can see above, the older Airtel 859 recharge pack not only was cheaper but also provided extra benefits such as Airtel Rewards and Apollo 24/7 Circle membership. Both of which are now removed.
Many experts are thinking of this move as an early sign towards a bigger Airtel tariff hike in 2026.

Interestingly, while Airtel has removed its 799 recharge pack, Jio is still offering its 799 plan with 84 days validity. It would be interesting to see if Jio would follow Airtel steps and discontinue its Jio 799 recharge?
