Amazon Prime Video to stream Kantara & Ponniyin Selvan this November!

Regarding Kantara -

FYI to all who "want to watch" but waiting for "OTT release", go and watch in your nearby cinema hall ( one with advanced speaker / sound systems ).. This particular movie is "an experience" that you cannot recreate on a screen at home..

Since the storyline is not extremely complicated, better watch it in the original language ( KANNADA / ಕನ್ನಡ ) with subtitles..

Kantara is kannada movie and got dubbed in all languages

Nice movie worth watching in Hall only TV won't do justice

Very disappointed with you DD. Kanthara is a Kannada movie. Its from Sandalwood, not Tamil industry. It was dubbed to Tamil and other local languages like Hindi due to heavy demand. Someone was calling KGF a Tollywood movie the other day even though its from Sandalwood. That kind of mistake shouldn't be happening on these posts.

Kanthara should be watched in theaters only for the first time. Its a whole new experience.

Do not wait for OTT. Buy tickets and encourage good movies like these.

cannot visit the theaters often because of baby etc. investing in a good home setup helps. movie outings these days are not cheap anyway. a good setup will workout in midterm. not talking about soundbars but good speakers

This is one of the movies you'll enjoy more in theatre. A lot of hard work went to depict the tribal culture pertaining to the Canara region in Karnataka. 70mm screen truly brings out cinematography of this movie

Kantara is Viral, creating history (mainly coz of climax) because for most of the common normal audience it's something new never witnessed act but not for me who is aware of such super natural phenomena that's why there was no fun for me @equalizer @Jairam333 @rockzilla1000 @slowpoison @G-Gowda @Chudiya

To a point I agree. But still only for climax it's a worth a watch in theater that acting is next level and even the hero of the movie said some god may have possessed him as that level of acting and taking is out of this world.

I agree Everywhere kannada is not given the right acknowledgement it deserves btw I am a Telugu guy. Please dd admins do the needful correction

I didn't get what you mean, but I'm trying to convey that for foreigners slumdog millionaire was epic but for Indians nothing extraordinary, same for audience who are unaware of such practice and spiritual powers gone crazy but for me... hope you got it... @Jairam333

Agree 100%. I am as genuine as it gets as I said before kantara is a good movie with great climax. The story is not at all new but execution is too good . Also if you have seen any jatara in your childhood you may have heard many folks lores and it may look normal still just for climax part it's a worth a watch in theater

Both these movies are worth watching and experiencing on BIG screen. I had hoped that GoK would have atleast made Kantara tax free.

These days OTT have strange strategy of releasing Hindi dubbed separately or on other platforms (for example Rocketry Hindi version is only on Voot select). Hope they don't mess like this with these 2 movies and release all versions simultaneously (though I suspect PS1 Tamil version might come late as it's still doing good in theatres).

I am big fan of the movie myself especially for the efforts put it by Rishab Shetty & entire team and how they executed it.  Excellent.  A Must watch in theatre.  Music is on another level.   Kannada industry is making waves  in the film industry last couple of years with so many good movies and some heros like the trio Rishab , Rakshit and Raj B shetty are taking kannada industry to another level with their simplicity and movie making

avg movie for me..few scenes were good, rest didnt understand the whole nasha sutta thing, everyone is smoking and drinking..that wooo sound in between is too good, so music is very good but rest story was too predictable..climax is not upto the mark either..dont know whats the hype..wasted my money..great message about our culture...but please dont hate me, i guess being from north india i couldnt understand the whole concept..

Exactly the same point I had in mind. Many other reviews that I have seen on other platforms too, have one thing in common. Most of the people who liked it seemed to be somewhat aware of the phenomenons that were being depicted. If more folks , say from eastern/western/northern parts of the country, share their review that will help - without thinking about being a spoilsport

Just watched it on Pika Show App.  Nice one time movie .

There is a reason Kantara is still going houseful after one month of release. It is an experience. Don't wait for OTT. Go, watch in theater.

I have a state of the art home theatre build in my home. With onkyo sound system 7.1ch with Dolby Atmos, pull down screen and BenQ projector costed about 12 lacs but so worth it.

This kind of rent a movie is kind of irritating after paying that much for subscriptions.

I rarely watch a movie on Amazon/zee5/hotstar/voot/sonyliv/aha,because of their poor response while forwarding and mostly download and watch even though i have all subscriptions.Netflix on the other hand is awesome.

Why pay for a movie (in addition to subscription,)when you can download for free and not face server issues

P.s i watched radheshyam on prime,quality is nowhere near theatre quality(hotstar movies quality is awesome though)

Please delete the thread, every movie will be on ott, what's new in it. This thread just discourages movie goers and makers

Bro, what we pay for subscription is very less, i. Case of prime, it gives shopping as well.

No offence ... But ,why should anyone watch any movie in theatres now a days???. What do these actors/film-makers do for the society?Instead we only spend/ waste money for them to enjoy in a wrong way like taking drugs.We only make them high & worship them like God but they misuse that...
Better Boycott all to show them the unity in diversity.
