The Open Network for Digital Commerce i.e. ONDC is now launched by the Indian government. It is currently started in Bangalore for grocery and restaurant orders. Mobility, hotel booking, electronics, and travel will follow.

ONDC plans to be an online shopping marketplace just like Amazon and Flipkart. Thus, will give an alternative option to online shoppers in India.
People in Bangalore can shop via ONDC buyer apps. Currently, Paytm, Mystore, and Spicemoney are the active ONDC buyer apps.
The government has got ONGC to boost up small retailers (local shops in your area). Also, it will give buyers another shopping option as currently only 2 major online marketplaces are live in Amazon and Flipkart.
Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said,
“It is democratic, cost-effective and empowers buyers and small businesses”
Let’s see if it stays true to this or not when it starts rolling out for major cities.
ONDC’s pilot project was started in April 2022 in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Shillong and Coimbatore. Around 20 national organizations including State Bank of India, UCO Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Bank of Baroda have invested approx ₹255 Crores in ONDC.
ONDC is a set of standards for voluntary adoption by sellers or logistics providers or payment gateways. Thus, if you are running any 1 of these then you can also be a part of the ONDC network.
If Amazon and Flipkart come onto the ONDC network then all Amazon products can be searched on Flipkart and vice-versa. Therefore, this seems unlikely to happen.
Currently, ONDC is active on 16 Bangalore pin codes. As of now, you can order via Paytm app, Mystore website, and Spice Money app. You can buy and sell on ONDC on Mystore website by requesting for it via email ([email protected]) as it is in closed Beta phase. After approval you can login via email id & password or gmail. On the Spice Money app, create an account and find the ONDC banner to place an order.

good initiative..
good if they aggregate from other stores such as reliance, More, Heritage etc.,
The prices are more compared to other retailers. What is the fun if they sell on MRP price without giving the discounts which other guys giving.
By the way, no one is forcing you to use it!!
And your tax money is not used to build the platform either. I mean if at all you pay taxes!!
open all big businesses in Bangalore Maharashtra Gujarat South India.
U.P. M.P. Bihar have no food
If you go to https://shop.mysto...n/ you will see Powered by https://www.storehipp...m/ at the footer.
Now gov will sell ongc company to abani or adani...
You are free to buy it you wish
I'm not seeing even 1% discount on Groceries. Who will shop here? 😣
Not in Bombay?
Few thing you guys should know -
ONDC is not a govt owned company.
ONDC is de-centralized. ONDC is not fully control by any single entity.
Banks, NPCI are the owner of ONDC.
So, in future banks will also give 10% discount offers etc on ONDC platform.
I don't have high hopes on customer service... If private companies like tatacliq, flipkart, etc has become worse now then I don't even want to imagine the level here.
I think this concept has been borrowed from https://myduk...io
Or maybe mydukaan founders have made a PPP model with Govt coaboration

On a serious not the website really looks good UI UX .. fast too. I hope they can make this successful like NPCI did with UPI.. massive opportunity specially for tier 2-3 cities.
Flipkart Amazon were best in replacement & refund matters. 1click return are best features. But govt authorised mall means they will torture u & unlimited excuses for just a replacement(Give aadhar, Pan card, give it return statement, etc). May be they will not accept returns easily. Govt will monitor privacy of people by this way. May be if u r not satisfied of product quality u cant return. [Govt = No responsibility] i lost costly sony 950BT headphone due to these idiot postal dept. They lastly told that item is not trackable & closed the complaint😡 it it were private courier they would have given compensation for that loss. If it govt u have to win a case against them in court to get compensation. So use govt services at ur own risk.
How to buy via Paytm app, as mentioned in the post?
“It is democratic, cost-effective and empowers buyers and small businesses”
Did he say, "Democratic" 😅
Remind me again, who (initially resisted but eventually) brought FDI in India.
ha ha... typical (2 rupees) reply.
FYI, there is no 20 crores per MLA buying or 40% PayCM concept in shariah.
how to order?
VU!!
Terrific initiative!!It's gonna promote healthy competition and remove monopolies of some stores. Small businesses and Startups will get an economical platform and hefty membership fees will be a thing of the past which is good for dimers/customers.😍 Jeff Bezos will have to slash Prime membership prices now.
Baki dunia ek taraf aur ladki ka bhai ek taraf
(People are debating on Govt strategy Indian made ecomerce and this gentleman is hoping to get cheaper prime membership)
Show proof please (kidding)
Good if all Banglore guys start using this ONGC only. Then we will have more loots delivered from Amazon & Flipkart for ourselves 😀
