Link Aadhaar Card to PAN Card Now or Pay ₹500-₹1000 Fine!
Now, Pay ₹500 Fine to Link Aadhaar Card to PAN Card. After June 2022, Fine will rise to ₹1000 and so on. PAN Card will get Deactivated if not done by March 2023!

The Government started initiatives to link Aadhaar Card to PAN Card in 2017, but still are around people to get this process completed. The reason for this linking is to delete the making of fake PAN and Aadhaar cards, and other related malpractices.
As of now, people who haven’t linked their PAN card to Aadhaar card will have to pay a fine of ₹500 to complete this process before 30th June 2022. After which the fine will increase to ₹1000 and will multiply if the user fails to do so before 31st March 2023 which is the final deadline.
After the final deadline, if you don’t link then your PAN card will be deactivated. This will result in various issues in tax paying, KYC applications, legal documents, and much more.
CBDT (Central Board of Direct Taxes) said:
- "A fine of ₹500 will be levied in case where such intimation is made within three months from the date referred to in sub-section (2) of section 139AA."
- "The Finance Act, 2021 inserted a new section 234H in the Act to complete the process of PAN-Aadhaar linking for identifying bogus PANs. This section provides that where a person who is required to intimate his Aadhaar under subsection (2) of section 139 AA fails to do so on or before a notified date, he shall be liable to pay a fee not exceeding a sum of ₹1000, as may be prescribed, at the time of making intimation under sub-section (2) of section 139AA after the said date.”
Thus, if you haven’t linked them yet then head straight towards the income tax portal and get it done. It hardly takes 10-15 mins. What do you think about this move from the CBDT? Just fyi, less than 10 crore even file itr & even among them only around 5 cr ppl actually declare income which is taxable.

the has started functioning. pay the penalty and link, since 30th june last day for minimum penalty of 500. Thereafter 1000.
Also it takes 4-5 days for payment to reflect and you cant link until penalty has been paid
