Mumbai gets Mobile Women Toilets made from Scrapped BEST Buses!

This service will be launched soon. It is said that it will be a paid service. However, prices will be reasonable ranging from ₹1 to ₹10. As per NGO Praja Foundation’s survey, Mumbai has very few public toilets. Moreover, out of those available only 25% are suitable for women. Thus, this initiative can prove a blessing in disguise.

This idea was 1st proposed in 2019, but didn't go well ahead due to Covid-19. The 1st of this Women’s Bus Toilet will be installed near the bus depot outside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

The main reason for this service is to provide hygienic toilets to women. Initially, it will be available in Fort and CSMT areas. Later, it will spread across Mumbai as per priority & requirements.

This Innovative Toilet will also have changing rooms, vending machines (female hygiene products), and a breastfeeding room. Besides, it will have 3 western and 1 Indian toilet. Also, water and electricity will be provided by BMC. There will also be a Female assistant for help.

With rising searches for “Ladies toilets near me” on the Internet, do you feel this service is worth it? Also, what’s on offer in other Indian cities? Please do share your city’s situation in this regard for a better space for Women in this country.

Initiative is good but most important part is hygiene. There is a public toilet near Museum at Fort, the toilet charges INR 5 to all but it stinks so badly, that you can't even dare to stand 50 meters away as well. BMC has a very poor record in managing such things...

i absolutely don't understand how breastfeeding inside a public restroom is considered a good idea in first place. i believe it's just tick all the boxes and has no functional value. and people who are complaining about such benifits to one gender, you people are late, very late , we live in a extremely blue pilled society where men have no value, even if you die no one cares. red pill is lagging very much in India.

Why this partiality towards only one gender ? It should be for all as everyone gets to answer the nature's call or else it will lead to other medical complications. Where should the others go ?
