ordered phone from paytm,got detergent powder instead

Cant be so sure without video. Maybe you put a detergent there And clicked a pic.
Your fault it is completely. Stay safe if you did replace it coz they might track the phone using the IMEI.. just like flipkart case few months ago.

any pack take continuous video while open it. no mater your phone has vga cam
now take proper video of PAYTM pack. paytm pack is tamper proof, 3 sides have 123 nos at edges. one onside seal. they mention on pack it you do not see 123 at 3 edges do not accept it. your video should prove this pack is tampered and taped . paytm never uses tapes for packing. I have similar experience with shopclues. I made video of open pack and sent to cs and informed them if they do not refund i will book a case in consumer forum and a criminal case with police for phone theft using the bill with imei no. with in few days i got money.
my impression if the vendor submits the packing video properly to paytm. courier has to take action and resolve with Paytm. you got original phone boxHTC. probable mischief is courier here. hope patm refund you identify the courier problem

True!! These cases have become serious now! Police are tracking many stolen IMEI!

no need to worry bhai they can’t cehat you nlike this if they say seller send the mobile then couirer company is the culprit but if they are just passing the ball in each other’s side then also you don’t panic bcoz you are right here then they shud be guilty bcoz cheated not you now coming on to the point even if they deny your return req. and say you are lying you got the phone then tell them to plz give the the IMEI number of that handset since seller must be having all data with him ask them for IMEI no as you didn’t got the phone and you are going to file F.I.R for theft/lost of phone and ask them you have to give it to police station and they’ll track where the phone is right now bcoz i\t got lost in transit just ask them for no and in case you got the no fill fir for lost phone and see if it helps if people can track your phone but no way they can deny as thankfully in your case its a phone so you can tack it if its other electronic item like HDD or ram or any other item then situation wud have been realy worst as it can’t be tracked so ppl make a unpacking video always of costly items.

a thing similar happened to me where I had ordered 2 pieces of an expensive thing and got only 1 in the package
to my rescue , I had made the unboxing video plus
as per the courier bill the weight was of only one product ,
see if the courier memo and weight mentioned in there could help u ??

the weight mentioned on the courier package is 500g
smartphone weight as of websites is 156g plus the box and inside material weight would have idk 4-5g more.
and the soap weight is 100g.
only if the courier guys had printed actual weight not round off weight

Also tell the courier guys that you have received soap bar instead of phone. And you are going to file fir and you doubt that they tampered the package and stole the phone.

got a reply from paytm and they have processed the return process and after returning the product ,i will get refund within 2 -3 days
let’s see what happens
also i liked the way paytm handled the whole thing and might give them another try but this time i shall tell my sister to make unboxing video and to unbox it in the front of courier boy itself
i guess paytm deserve another chance

No way, unless u r ready for goof up.

be sure they will refund what you paid and NOT for product you are returning back to them (The Soap Price max Rs.20/-).

DO NOT send anything back until they agree/confirm via EMAIL/TWEET etc. to refund you WHAT YOU PAID (HTC Handset Price)

Also (as per me) do not send them ORIGINAL PACK you received (or at Least shoot video of pack/receipt etc.)

I stop ordering costly product with PayTm since one of our dimer received Tiles in place of laptop…

2 year back I order mobile with Sanpdeal and at that time I asked delivery person to wait till I unbox the Package… he wait and I unbox handset in-front of him… (after he agree to stop I paid him first)

Month back I order Handset from Flipkart, , before delivery he call me & told that due to heavy traffic he is not able to visit me and ask me to come down to collect handset, but I calmly guide him a gully to park his bike with instruction that if he is not able to park now, than do visit some other time but I’m unable to see him down…. here too before payment I asked delivery person to stop till I open the pack (after he agree to stop I paid him & he wait for 5 minutes, till I unbox the handset)

Moral of the STORY:- If by chance the delivery person did any wrong with your pack he will NEVER AGREE with you and he will never stop till you unpack the package.

The returns process will follow the following 4-steps:
Return requested: You are at this stage now
Return accepted: We will study the issue based on information provided by you and based on the return policy, accept the return request. Else, we will provide the reason for non-acceptance
Pick-up: We will schedule a pick-up from your residence, typically within 3-4 days after step2. You will be expected to keep the product packed for pick-up
Refund: We will refund into your Paytm wallet within 2-3 days after pick-up

i got his message in the email
Well we already have the pics with us and the pick up will be scheduled in 2-3 days
they have mentioned the mobile in the email along with the cost and reason : empty box received
what should i do
return the whole thing as i have received or anything else

i have received another email from paytm but this one is from the support and it states
“I would like to inform you that your refund will be processed within next 48-72 hours.”
Things are looking good now
