Puducherry govt extends lockdown to June 21 (midnight) while easing some curbs
The Puducherry government extended the Covid-induced lockdown in the union territory till midnight of 21 June and also relaxed a few curbs as new cases dip.
- Corona curfew from 10 pm-5 am daily is already in place.
- Restaurants and bar facilities within hotels, lodges & guest houses & other standalone eateries shall be permitted to operate with 50% capacity up to 5 pm
- Marriage related gathering permitted with guests not exceeding 25.
- Funeral/last rites allowed with not more than 20 people.
Lakshadweep extends lockdown till June 21 – Complete lockdown in 4 Islands
The UT administration extended the complete shutdown on four islands — Kavaratti, Bitra, Kiltan, and Minicoy — by one week, till June 21 citing high prevalence of Covid.
Night curfew on Kadmath, Agatti, Amini, Androth, Kalpeni and Chetlath islands will continue till further orders.

Bihar Unlock – Relaxes Covid restrictions till June 22
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced further relaxation in the lockdown in view of the continuous improvement in the corona infection. This relaxation in restrictions has been given for one week as the status of corona infection was reviewed. After this, it was decided to give some more relaxation in restrictions from June 16 to June 22.
- Night curfew will be in force from 8 pm to 5 am.
- Shops and other commercial establishments will be able to open till 6 pm.
- Government offices and non-government offices have been allowed to function in full strength till 5 pm.
- Online classes will be allowed.
- There will be no restrictions on the movement of private vehicles
Jharkhand unlock: Covid restrictions eased, offices to remain open till 4 pm
The Jharkhand government permitted,
- All government and private offices to remain open till 4 pm with 50% human resources
- Weekend Curfew – All shops including fruits and grocery will remain closed from Saturday 4 pm till Monday 6 am. However, health services and related shops are exempted.
Punjab eases Covid-19 curbs
As #COVID19 positivity declines to 2%, Punjab govt orders relaxations from June 16 to June 25.
Under the fresh guidelines, which will remain in effect till June 25,
- Restaurants, dhabas, cinemas, gyms etc to open at 50% capacity, subject to all their employees have received at least one dose of vaccination.
- State allows an increase in gathering of people, including for weddings and cremations, to 50 persons. Earlier only 20 persons were allowed to gather in these functions.
- Daily night curfew will be in place from 8 pm to 5 am.
- Weekend curfew from 8.00 pm on Saturday up to 5.00 am on Monday, across the state.
- Bars, Pubs and ‘Ahatas’ shall, however, continue to remain closed.
- All educational institutions i.e. schools and colleges will also continue to be closed.
Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa has said that there will be further relaxation in lockdown restrictions in the state after June 21.
Kerala Unlock – Covid norms eased in Kerala
Complete lockdown to continue across the State on weekends:
The Kerala government Tuesday decided to further relax some of the curbs imposed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Local bodies with an average TPR of less than eight per cent would have limited restrictions.
- Whereas a partial lockdown would be there in places with 8-20 per cent TPR.
- Full lockdown for 20-30 per cent TPR and triple lockdown in areas with TPR above 30 per cent.
The average weekly TPR will be reviewed every Wednesday by district administrations and changes in the lockdown status for the local bodies will be communicated by them.
Relaxation in lockdown will be allowed on basis of test positivity rate under local self-govt bodies. Local bodies with below 8% test positivity rate to function normally with restrictions, to be allowed to open shops.
- Statewide lockdown on Saturday, Sunday.
- Shops selling essential items can operate from 7 am to 7 pm.
- All shops (with up to 50 per cent staff) will be allowed to operate from 7 AM to 7 PM in areas with a TPR of up to eight per cent.
- Akshaya Kendras will be open from Monday to Friday.
- Restaurants will be allowed to offer only home deliveries and takeaways.
- Sale of liquor allowed through app.
- BEVCO outlets and bars can open from 9 AM to 7 PM and slots should be booked through the app.
- Sale of lottery tickets allowed.
- Banks would continue to operate only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Public transport in a restricted manner,.
- Nod for public exams.
- Central and state govt bodies, corporations can operate with 25% staff on rotation..
- The Secretariat would function with up to 50 per cent of the staff on a rotation basis.
- Activities in the industrial and agricultural sectors will be allowed in all local bodies. Transportation will be provided to workers in these areas.
- The number of those participating in weddings and funeral services will continue to be limited to 20.
- No green light for tourism activities and opening of malls and other indoor spaces.
- Public gatherings remain banned.
- No in-dining services at restaurants. Only takeaway and home-delivery allowed.
Kerala govt announces further relaxations in lockdown rules
The new relaxations would come into effect from Thursday, June 24.
- Banks will function on Tuesdays and Thursdays also, but the public will not have access to the branches on these days.
- All government institutions and banks in Category A and B areas will be allowed to operate with up to 50 per cent employees and all government institutions in category C, with up to 25 per cent staff.
- Places of worship can open, subject to a maximum of 15 persons at a time.
- Liquor shops in local bodies bordering Tamil Nadu will remain closed because of the lockdown in that state.
Jharkhand extends lockdown till June 24
The Jharkhand government on Tuesday extended Covid-related lockdown-like restrictions till June 24 with some relaxations
- All government and private offices to remain open till 4 pm with 50% human resources.
- Weekend Curfew – All shops including fruits and grocery will remain closed from Saturday 4 pm till Monday 6 am. However, health services and related shops are exempted.
- Opening of shopping malls and departmental stores till 4 pm.
- Earlier, only shops were allowed till 4 pm and not the shopping malls and departmental stores.
- Inter-state and Intra-state bus transport shall remain prohibited except for the buses specifically used by the district administration till June 24 morning, as per a statement from the state government.
- E-passes will be mandatory for inter-state and inter-district movement in private vehicles but for movement within the district, no e-passes will be required.
- Religious places will remain closed for the devotees like earlier and so are the educational institutions.

The Uttar Pradesh government decided to give relaxation of two more hours during the night ‘corona curfew’ across the state from June 21 with the improvement in the COVID-19 situation.
From next Monday (June 21), the night curfew hours will be effective from 9 pm to 7 am. So far, the restrictions were effective from 7 pm to 7 am the following day. (PTI)
Assam govt extends ongoing Covid-19 restrictions till June 22, eases certain curbs in some districts.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority has issued a new set of lockdown guidelines that will be in effect till 5am on June 22.
As per the order, lockdown-like curbs have been relaxed in South Salmara, Majuli, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Udalguri, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao and Charaideo districts.
Public movement will be allowed in these districts from 5am to 5pm
The government has taken strict consideration of 5 districts which have shown an increase in daily Covid-19 cases.
Notably, Cachar, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sonitpur, and Nagaon are the 5 districts that have shown an increase in COVID cases. While Nagaon earlier had also reported for anomalies in vaccine availability.

👉 Relaxation in Kamrup (M) – Curfew from 2:00 PM, Shops & Establishments to close down at 1:00 PM

👉 Curfew in the above-mentioned districts will be from 5 PM to 5 AM.

Bengaluru Lockdown Update: Section 144 CrPC to remain in effect till 21st June midnight.
In the wake of the COVID-19 situation, restrictions under section 144, which prohibits assembly of more than 4 people in public places have been extended in Bengaluru till June 21.
“Section 144 CrPC (prohibiting assembly of more than 4 people in public places, except for purposes which are exempted) to remain in effect till 21st June midnight. Bus stands, railways station and airports exempt”, read the circular issued by Bengaluru City Police Commissioner and Additional District Magistrate.
This comes a day after traffic snarls returned to the IT Capital city as the stringent lockdown was relaxed in 19 districts after more than a month.
Madhya Pradesh Unlock – Govt Issues Fresh Guidelines
To further contain the spread of the virus in the state, the Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday issed a fresh set of Covid guidelines.
- The night curfew will remain in force in urban areas across the state from 10 pm to 6 am.
- The public curfew will continue every Sunday.
- All religious, political, sports, entertainment gatherings will remain prohibited.
- School, colleges and educational institutes will remain shut. Online classes allowed to operate.
- Religious places will be allowed to open. However, only 6 people will be allowed at a time and everyone must follow Covid appropriate behavior.
- All kinds of shops, establishments and private offices will be open at full capacity from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Shopping malls, gyms, restaurants, clubs, fitness centers and sports stadiums allowed to open.
- Restaurants, Gyms, fitness center, club are allowed to open with 50% capacity.
- 100% staff are now allowed to come in government offices.
- A total of 50 people from both parties will be able to attend the wedding. The list has to be given to the administration first.
- Industries, construction activities allowed.
- All cinema halls, theatres and swimming pool shall remain closed.
- The ban on inter-state movement of passenger buses between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh will be lifted from June 16, while the curb on those from Maharashtra will continue till June 22.
Chandigarh Extends Night Curfew
The Chandigarh administration new guidelines announcing the revised timings for the ongoing night curfew in the city.
According to revised timing, the night curfew will be observed between 10:30 PM-5 AM. Earlier, it used to be from 10 PM to 5 AM.
“There shall be a prohibition on movement of individuals/travellers for all non-essential activities between 10:30 PM to 05.00 AM in Chandigarh.
No person shall leave their homes or roam around on any road or public spaces during the said hours," the guidelines read.
What will be allowed during night curfew:
- The manufacturing units/industry shall be allowed to open.
- There shall be no curbs on inter-state movement of essential and non-essential goods.
- Pregnant women and patients for getting medical/health services.
- ATM, hospital, vet hospitals, related medical establishments can stay open.
Nagaland extends statewide lockdown till June 30
The Nagaland government further extended the ongoing statewide lockdown till June 30, a senior official said.
While the restrictions were scheduled to end on 18 June, state officials decided to not ease the norms as the Covid-19 positivity rate continues to be above 5%.
Leh to start unlock process in phased manner till 21 June – Night curfew between 9pm to 5am
As the number of active cases dips in Ladakh, the administration in the union territory has decided to ease certain Covid restrictions as part of a gradual unlocking process till 21 June. The relaxations would not be extended nor applicable in areas notified as containment zones.
Leh District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has issued new guidelines to allow commercial activities covering almost all segments at the end of ‘corona curfew’.
- Night curfew to remain in force between 9pm to 5am, all days.
- Essential services allowed to operate round the clock, all days.
- Groceries / General Stores, vegetable, milk & meat shops and bakeries permitted to operate between 7am to 1pm, all days.
- Hardware shops, stores dealing with construction materials along with the vehicles needed for transportation can operate between 5am to 9pm, all days.
- Readymade garments, shoe, tailoring, furniture shops, mobile repair, electronics, IT & Computer shops, Dish / Tv Recgarge Shops, printing press, photo-state, stationary, book, sports, toys, gift shops, cosmetic, art, jewellery shops & all other left out shops & business establishments are allowed to open between 1pm to 7pm, monday to friday.
- Babar shops, beauty parlours / saloons and wine shops permitted to open between 9am to 7pm on Saturdays & Sundays.
- Restaurants are allowed to function only with take-away & home delivery services between 8am to 8pm, all days.
- Hotels can operate dine-in services with a 30% seating capacity for in-house guests.
- Dine-in services shall continue to remain closed
- For non-essential vehicular movement, the district administration would begin an odd/even system with 50% seating capacity.
- Public transport, spas and gyms would continue to remain closed till further orders.
- No restrictions on the already allowed activities including developmental and construction works along with mining activities.
- Agricultural activities, including establishments dealing with agricultural inputs, implements and tools, would be allowed with strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs.
- e-commerce and home delivery of essential goods and services, including food, would be allowed between 7am to 4pm, monday to friday.
- All social, religious, political, cultural and sports gatherings would remain prohibited till further notice, according to the order.
Odisha Unlock Begins – Partial lockdown to continue till July 1
Opens borders with Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand
Owing to the number of Covid-19 cases in the state, the Odisha government has decided to continue partial lockdown in the state till 5am on July 1.
Shops selling essential goods will be allowed to open from 6 am to 5 pm in 17 districts of the southern and western part of the state where the positivity rate is 5 per cent or less.
Lockdown will be lifted in 17 districts, put in category A, between 6am and 5pm as these have the test positivity rate below 5, and an active caseload of less than 1,000. Test positivity rate is the number of cases testing positive out of the total samples tested for an infection. These districts are Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Bolangir, Sonepur, Rayagada and Boudh.
In 13 other districts, slotted in Category B, most of which have a TPR above 7.5% and an active caseload of over 2,000, the lockdown will be lifted between 6am and 1pm. These are Khurda, Cuttack, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Dhenkanal, Angul, Keonjhar and Nayagarh.
- The weekend shutdowns on Saturdays and Sundays will also continue across Odisha till the end of the month.
- Shops dealing in essential services can open from 6 am to 5 pm in 17 districts and from 6 am to 1 pm in 13 districts.
- All essential shops, including sweet shops and roadside eateries, would be allowed to open during these hours. However, these eateries can only provide takeaways.
- Cycle (sale) and automobile repair shops will also be allowed to open.
- Morning walks, cycling, and jogging activities have been permitted from 6am to 9 am.
- Parks, gyms will continue to stay shut in all districts.
- Shopping malls, salons, cinema halls will stay shut.
- All the restrictions regarding marriage, cremation, meetings, social gatherings, opening of temples will continue as before, as per the partial unlocking measures.
- All essential services, transport of goods, industrial activities, construction activities will be allowed.
- Public bus services will remain restricted for now.
Andhra Pradesh has extended the curfew till June 30
The Covid curfew in Andhra Pradesh has been further extended till June 30 but with a four-hour additional relaxation in timings.
- Accordingly, curfew will be in force from 6 pm to 6 am daily from June 21.
- All shops and business establishments will have tobe shut by 5 pm daily.
- In East Godavari district, which has still been reporting a higher number of coronavirus cases, the curfew will be in force from 2 pm to 6 am.
- Government offices will function normally from June 21 and staff have been directed to attend work as per the revised schedule.
Tripura extends Covid curfew till 5 am on June 26 in 12 areas under Agartala civic body
According to the new notification, a day curfew will be in place in marketplaces and busy areas from 2 pm till 6 pm. The night curfew will also remain in place from 6 pm till 5 am.
The Tripura government has decided to extend the ongoing curfew in areas under Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) for seven more days till 5am on June 26 as the positivity rate of the state continues to remain between 3 per cent and 5 per cent.
A notification issued by Chief Secretary informed that the situation was reviewed in detail and it was decided that it is necessary to extend the curfew in 12 urban local bodies. The ongoing curfew was limited to only six urban bodies.
The urban local bodies which now come under these restrictions are: Khowai Municipal Council in Khowai district, Belonia Municipal Council and Santirbazar Municipal Council in South district, Kumarghat Municipal Council and Kailasahar Municipal Council in Unakoti district, Udaipur Municipal Council in Gomati district, Bishalgarh Municipal Council in Sepahijala district, Panisagar Nagar Panchayat in North district, and Mohanpur Municipal Council and Ranirbazar Nagar Panchayat in West district.
In areas that are not a part of the order, concerned district magistrates have been asked to impose restrictions as and when required.
- According to the new order, government and private offices have been allowed to function at 50 per cent strength till 4 pm.
- Public meetings in open or closed spaces have been banned. However, government meetings have been allowed but with a maximum of 20 people.
- Shops and markets have been allowed to remain open from 6 am till 2 pm.
- Shopping malls, cinema halls and multiplexes would remain closed.
- Shop owners will ensure social distancing, wearing of masks among customers.
- Local Market and Bazaar committees should deploy volunteers to ensure social distancing.
- Vehicles other than government vehicles will be allowed to ply only from 5 AM to 2 PM for essential needs.
- However, this restriction shall not apply to vehicles used for medical and other emergency purposes.
- Works under MGNREGAs will continue after strictly maintaining COVID-appropriate behaviour.
- Shops selling repair materials & spare parts for plumbing, electrician, motor mechanic , and household equipment will be allowed up to 5 PM during day curfew.
- All types of super spreading events and gatherings like social, political, entertainment, religious, academic, cultural, fair, festival-related congregation will remain closed.
No lockdown on Sundays, says Chandigarh Administration
There will be no lockdown or closure on Sunday. Night curfew will be from 10:30 pm to 5:00 am.
Sukhna Lake will remain closed except from 5:00 am to 9:00 am and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday.

Weekend Lockdown returns to Pune: Non-essential shops will remain shut, no dine-in at restaurants
After considerably relaxing restrictions since Monday, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to get cautious by announcing that all non-essential shops will remain shut during the weekends.
Although the city has seen improvement in the pandemic situation, PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar issued an order on Friday evening declaring with immediate effect the closure of all stalls selling non-essential items, malls, saloon, beauty parlours, spa, wellness centers, bars and food courts on weekends along with the non-essential category stores.
The PMC has also decided to continue with the prohibitory orders restricting gathering of five or more people and no free movement of public without valid reason will be allowed after 10 pm.
In his order, municipal commissioner Kumar said the decision would be applicable with immediate effect till further orders in the jurisdiction of PMC, Pune Cantonment Board and Kirkee Cantonment Board.
- The essential category shops will be allowed to be open all days of the week till 7 pm.
- All other shops except those in essential category, Malls, Saloon, Beauty Parlour, Spa and Wellness centers along with non-essential category shops will not be permitted to operate on Saturday and Sunday,
Maharashtra – Most of Thane in level 2, Palghar in level 3
Palghar district on Friday fell from category two to category three as part of the Maharashtra government’s five-level plan to ease curbs as per positivity rate and oxygen bed occupancy levels.
An order issued by Palghar collector Manik Gursal said this category three notification includes Vasai Virar municipal limits.
Meanwhile, Thane collector Rajesh Narvekar, in a notification issued during the day, said Thane, Navi Mumbai and Kalyan-Dombivali have been placed under category two, while all other regions of the district have been kept in category three, which means the extent of relaxation of coronavirus-induced restrictions would be lesser in the latter than others.
Under the state government’s plan to bring back normalcy amid a fall in cases, cities and districts in category one will see the highest degree of relaxation from curbs, while those in category five will see almost all ‘break the chain’ restrictions in place.
The categorisation of areas, and resultant lifting or reimposing of curbs, is reviewed on a weekly basis.

The state cabinet has decided to lift the lockdown completely. The number of corona cases in the state, the percentage of positivity has dropped significantly and the corona has come under complete control, the decision was taken after reviewing the reports provided by the medical authorities to lift the lock down to this extent: Telangana CMO
The Cabinet also directed the Department of Education to start all types of educational institutions from 1 July with full readiness.

Telangana to Reopen Educational Institutions from July 1|
The Telangana government decided to reopen educational institutions from July 1. The education department has been directed to reopen all categories of educational institutions from July 1 with students allowed to attend classes physically.
In view of the decision to reopen educational institutions, the cabinet has asked the education department to prepare guidelines on different issues, including students’ attendance and online classes and release it at the earliest.

Nashik included under level-2 of ‘unlock’; malls to reopen from 21 June
With Nashik district in Maharashtra falling under the level-2 category of the five-level ‘unlock’ plan of the Maharashtra government, the local administration has decided to allow the reopening of malls with a 50 per cent capacity on weekdays from June 21.
However, the administration has decided to continue with the level-3 restrictions considering the previous experience of crowding and various other factors.
- The malls will be allowed to operate from 7 am to 4 pm on Monday to Friday.
- RT-PCR test and anti-COVID 19 vaccination is made mandatory for all the employees of these malls as soon as possible.
- Use of a face mask, sanitiser, maintaining a social distance and thermal scanning is also a must for employees and customers.
West Bengal Extends Lockdown Till 1 July, Existing Restrictions Eased From 16 June
The West Bengal government has extended its Covid-19 curfew till July 1. However, existing restrictions will be relaxed from June 16.
