Hell everyone

Please suggest me a cycle for 12km daily up & down for office.

Age – 26 years.

Location of office is not suit me a metro
Bus is not stopping here in bus stand, waiting time is around an hour on bus stand (plus not safe in corona time)
Bike, i don’t have license and i haven’t learned yet, how to drive.

So cycle is the only option, looking for me.
Renting cycle are looking costly as 10rs per hour for a 10 hours around daily

Best search for e cycle or some electric moped.. one from TVS is around 10k..no license is required..but can be a major safety issue in delhi type cities…first traffic…second parking of e cycle…someone will steal it…

Best option is u change your room!!

10k what? I checked Hero e-cycles few days back and it was like 25k or something. What good electric bicycles are available which is both well built and runs well, please apprise. Badly looking for one as public transports are barred. I don’t wish to go for some new upcoming companies.

Whatever you buy don’t even think of buying omobikes. They are running scams..

I am fat. And I cycle 14km everyday just to enjoy the cold breeze, late evening.

12km will take you less than an hour with comfortable chillass cycling.

Learn to measure your cycle. There are ample videos on the internet. It’s a simple process that measures the distance from your crotch to the ground. Age has nothing to do with it.

Very important advice:
1. Get a geared cycle
2. Get a roadbike. Not an MTB or even a hybrid. That means, get thin tyres. As thin as possible.

What difference geared cycle makes compare to non geared?

I m planning to buy basic hero Sprint cycle. What are the cons. Of such cycle compare to what u r suggesting?

Go for a hybrid bike, it would cost you somewhere around 20k for a decent one. If you’re willing to give your all, then invest in a good bicycle and since your age is mere 26 years, it won’t be a problem. Having a good frame, good drivetrain helps a lot in long run and in case there’s altitude variations, then it’s much needed.

For hybrid bike, Firefox Rapide 21s is a good recommendation. If your budget is slightly higher, Montra Blues 1.2D is an all-rounder. There are other brands too but stick to Firefox Rapide 21s and it would be all you need.

I own a gravel bike, B’TWIN Triban 100 but I won’t recommend road bike unless you’re passionate about cycling. Hybrid bike is fine at this stage.

All the best and yes, 12 kms is nothing when you start off cycling.

Own a MTB and FAT bycycle both. Ridley Trailfire and Waltx Dune 4. Love both, both accelerates fast enough, waltx feels more stable on rough surface and while cornering. Speed is good enough. Ridley us too fast on plain roads .. I can easily reach 25+ and if paddle hard then 35Km/h. My elder bro mostly rides the fat bycycle though. Anyway, geat cycle is anyday better than non geared ine, opt for disc brake as it can be a lifevsaver, longer hsndle bars for more precise control. For riding on flat to a little gradients here and there front 2 and back 5 is the most perfect setting for gears. I ride weekly around 160km+ .. take it for joyride mostly and ride at noon time mostly.

I have 3 cycles. All hybrids, not electric.

Montra 1.2d used bike is best bet and highly recommended.

Which place you live in? What’s weather and route like? Road with shadow and trees or bare and bad road surface? Lot of things matter but it’s great gesture to think of the cycle for commuting.

Makes you fit, doesnt pollute and cheapest while having decent pace.

I am a cyclist and i do more than 80-100 KM every week (most of my riding is on weekend). I can tell you that 12 KM is nothing and in a few weeks you wont feel anything but would add lots to your health as cycling is a brilliant cardio exercise and if you continue may add to your age in the long run. If you have shower in the office you should opt for cycling and I suggest wear a helmet and plan your outfit as it will help you immensely. You can go for a Hybrid cycle…even if you get a second hand from OLX should help as one servicing and you will have a cycle as good as new as its expensive to maintain a low end cycle. Hop the info helps…
