Dear Cardholder,
This is to inform you that Reward Points accrued on transactions eligible for Instant Discount and Cashback offers will be forfeited as per T&Cs of the Offer Program. Reward points will be forfeited for all transactions done during offer period and considered for Offer computation.
In case a cardholder does not have adequate Reward Points balance at the time of forfeiture, an amount equal to the deficit in the Reward Points will be debited from his / her credit card account.
In case of any other query, would request you to please contact the SBI Card Helpline at 39 02 02 02 (prefix local STD code) or 1860 180 1290.
Warm regards,

This is a total mess by SBI. Why did they give reward points for such transactions in the first place ? Good strategy to earn Cash from bank's end.
@akki.akki On simplysave card there was a deduction of Rs.47 for 10% sbi instant discount sale on flipkart so still basically no loss for me. Good thing I decided to not use amazon/sbi combo gis sale & relied on fk bbd sale/axis/icici combo mainly.
@Knight11 @Demondealer heavy drivers what's your status on sbi cashback card?
I didn't use sbi cashback in any of the sales offer.
Just once, I did in September for 4K transaction (probably 10% was applied on this). I got 300 Amazon cashback. Later, I cancelled it l, as price reduced by 1k next day. I got back 3700 in card and points for 3700 were reversed at that time itself (obviously whatever instant discount was there, that also didn't count).
So, it was like i bought 300 Amazon voucher.
So far no points/cb reversal or any charges for me. I don't think they will do double reversal or think about those 300 rupees😅.
I think Amazon itself must be reporting the discounts offered and asking bank to pay. So in my case, as order was cancelled, Amazon won't ask anything.
SBI adding charges into statement as if 1 reward points was equal to 1 ruppee.
Jitne ka gift card redeem ni kiya uske double ka charges lag chuka
When will it stop ?...
Mine also deducted for September end sale amazon.
SBI cashback card 5%
very bad process by sbi my 1500 debit from three cards
For those whose cb/points deducted for txns done before 7th oct @Vaastav posted a screenshot of their original T&C which they later changed which is more than enough for those affected to get a successful resolution by complaining about this to rbi ombudsman. One member here actually won 5k compensation from axis bank for refusing his application for ltf card when same card was available as paid in his bank acc pre-approved offer.
How do we check the transactions for which the rp forfeit debit is against? Should I contact the customer care for this info?
I can only see 2 debits amount to 911 and 8 rs each but no clarity on which transaction the debit was against.
888 debited from my credit card on 30 dec. Any idea what is this?
Every should complain to rbi ombudsman without thinking results to pressure on sbi cc
Approx 1000 deducted from my SBI simply click card
5840 debited from Cashback card 😢
Could you correlate with your txns?
5%?
Amazon / flipkart ?
Date?
31/12/22 Another ₹23.25 debited...
Cashback card 4900 debited for sep 22nd transaction on Amazon
5% CB reversed?
Anyways, raising consumer forum complaint, things were informed after the transaction was done. And even that screenshot mentions the date as Oct 7.
How to know for which txn rp was debited. My cashback card statment shows 2 debit for rs 500 and 1000 near amount. How to track the specified txn for which they reversed it.
Because it is sbi card so no way to know details other than raise a complaint & hope the customer support give the details after 1-2 escalations & 1-2 weeks of waiting.
2,594 was taken, I still don't understand what's this charge been taken for? |
Holy shit! In my case it’s about 911₹.
What can I do?
will sbi take back the cashback given in sbi gyftr site as well where we had purchased amazon voucher at 3% discount ?
All my transaction are prior to 7th Oct 2022 using SBI Cashback card
@Seinfeld The did mention "7 oct 22 onwards or as per program T&C" but I think rbi ombudsman may consider it as sort of misleading/confusing info & may give decision in favour of complainant.
Shall I directly go ombudsman route? Or wait for 30 days before escalating to ombudsman? I do feel that if we flood ombudsman then maybe this will come under radar. However even I feel that it’s unlikely that rbi will decide in our favour.
For my cashback card, the amount debited corresponds to a transaction on Amazon on Sep 28. However, there is another order on Sep 30 for which the amount has not yet been reversed.
The order on Sep 28 though had 300 Amazon Pay cashback associated with it, so not sure if that has caused the reversal, but it seems the 5% cashback credited in addition to 10% discount will be reversed.
Deducted and Lost: 698 + 4985 RP..
Atrocious act by SBI, we all must fight legally by complaining to authorities.
Lost 6k+ points for simply click. No deductions done yet for SBI cb cc.
I thought only SBI cashback cards reward points they are debiting reward points but shocked to see simply click
Mine seems highest here
Never getting a SBI CC now. It's way too complicated to me.
my cashback card being charged for rs2660 for transaction done on 23 Sept, while receiving the cashback this amount felt like average, but now when the sbi reversed it, this amount seems huge
Lost ₹285 + 1692 RP
Now my confusion got resolved! ICICI Amazon pay card is way better than any other credit cards in India!!
OMG.. they took out 500+90 rs and 659 rewards for my flipkart transactions in the offer period.. cheap move by SBI ..
And those were my relatives transactions.. already gave them as discount..
Hope they didn't do it with cashback card.. otherwise it will change all my calculations for discount
Request all concerned to raise complain through their app, portal or email and escalate to the topmost officer. Why should a customer suffer for their mistake. All they provide is RPs/vouchers for most cards and now debit cash in return, which is totally unacceptable.
